Smoke on the Mountain - BBQ Cookoff Competition

It’s with heavy hearts that we share some bittersweet news. After many incredible years of smoke, sauce, laughter, and memories, our annual BBQ Cook-Off will sadly no longer be held.

This decision did not come easily. Over time, increasing costs, the growing challenge of securing volunteers, the amount of time required to plan and execute the event, unpredictable weather, and the overall return on effort have forced us to make this tough decision. While our passion for this event has never faded, these realities ultimately led us to this difficult choice.

This BBQ Cook-Off has always been more than just a competition—it’s been a tradition. A place where friends and family came together, pitmasters shared their craft, and our community came together year after year. We are deeply grateful to everyone who cooked, volunteered, sponsored, attended, and supported us along the way. None of this would have been possible without you.

While this chapter is coming to a close, the memories (and flavors!) will live on. Thank you for making the BBQ Cook-Off something truly special. ❤️🔥

The rules for 2025 have not changed from prior years but will be posted to the page. If you are new to the competition, be sure to check them out!

Remember: The categories this year are CHICKEN, PORK RIBS, & BRISKET.

There will be an informal (optional) competition on Friday night following the Cruise In. The category will be BREAKFAST!

Details will be provided during the BBQ'ers meeting on Friday evening.

IMPORTANT GENERAL REMINDER FOR ATTENDEES AND BBQ CONTESTANTS:

Please remember that on Friday, from 3PM to 7PM, only Show Cars and Show Car traffic will be permitted in the Fox Township Firemen's parking lot for the Cruise In.

No other vehicles will be allowed, and no thru traffic will be permitted from 3PM FRIDAY until 7PM when the Cruise In is over. NO EXCEPTIONS! This restriction includes any visitors to the BBQ area. This was an issue last year and cannot be this year. There is general parking available close to the firehall. We appreciate your support and understanding.

BBQ'ers can bring equipment and/or campers, starting on Thursday after 5pm, on Friday UNTIL 3pm and again on Saturday morning if preferred.
