Every service dog placed through VA Dogs represents two lives forever changed: a Veteran searching for support and a rescue dog in need of a second chance.

That belief is at the heart of everything we do.

Each placement is more than a match. It’s a journey of healing, trust, and renewed purpose for both the Veteran and the dog. We are continually grateful for the opportunity to witness these life-changing partnerships and for the community that makes them possible.

Thank you for being part of this mission with us!

On Monday, Author Jamie R. Cole and her service dog Shay visited Center Point ISD for Career Day! 🐾📚🇺🇸

From serving in the military to becoming a teacher, librarian, author, and now supporting fellow Veterans through VA Dogs, Jamie shared her incredible journey with students, and left a lasting impression.

We’re so grateful for opportunities like this to inspire the next generation and show the powerful impact service dogs can have.

Thank you, Center Point ISD, for the warm welcome. We can’t wait to visit again!y

We kicked off last month at Hill Country Dog Center with our first Veteran class of the new fiscal year!
This session was focused on classroom training, so our dogs weren’t present just yet, except for Shay, who was more than happy to greet everyone. 🐶✨

Thrilled to share that our very own Jamie Cole, Administrative Manager and Veteran Liaison at VA Dogs of Texas, was recently featured in a Community Impact article! 🙌

“A service dog not only supports a veteran physically, but emotionally,” Jamie said. “These dogs reduce isolation, build confidence, and save lives. We’re grateful to partner with Hats Off For Veterans to expand our mission and reach more Texas Veterans who are waiting for a canine hero.”
