Loving Texas Pet Assistance

Loving Texas Pet Assistance The Texas animal shelter euthanasia crisis is not solely a shelter problem. We assist loving responsible people, keep their pets. Need dog food? Tami Baumann

Assisting pets living with low income individuals by providing spay/neuter for their animals, lowers the number of unplanned animals entering the shelter to begin with. In Los Angeles, where the shelter interventions and assistance programs were created, we started our rescue (Ghetto Rescue FFoundation). We are police officers, firefighters, and community members working closely with partner shelt

ers and communities. Loving Texas Pet Assistance is a program under our Ghetto Rescue FFoundation. Need a support dog? Need medical care for your pet? Let us help you keep your pet out of the shelter. email us [email protected]

*Kermit the Dog. Kermit was dumped in ditch by someone in Eagle Pass, Texas. Then a family found him and took him home to feed him. He did not get better. We received a call (in California) asking for help. We contacted the local Vet, but she was unable to. We sent $100 to a man to drive Kermit to Uvalde to get him help. The Vet staff there advised us he had Mountain Fever and heartworms. We had him humanely put down and we had his ashes sent to us. We think Kermit mattered. We are sad no one helped Kermit the Dog. He motivated me to help people with their dogs in Texas.

Yesterday, a set of circumstances steered us right into the path of animal control in Junction!

We discovered two puppies (that likely had Parvo) were at the small Junction shelter in Kimble County. With the help of a veterinarian and a couple of volunteers we sprung into action.

Rural counties most often don’t have veterinary offices open after hours, IF they even have a Vet anywhere nearby.

It’s hard for some people to believe that pets and shelter animals must drive over an hour or two to get any kind of veterinary care.

If you’re reading this, most likely you live fairly close to a veterinarian. Imagine sick puppies or injured animals in certain areas! Many Counties have zero budget for shelter animals. Then there are many low income folks who may or may not have a car and most likely can’t afford an expensive veterinary bills. It’s hopeless.

The two puppies were not eating. They had the stinky telltale Parvo poops and both looked so sad.

This was a typical group effort that we talk about. Thank you and ACO Johnny for assisting with these two sweeties!
