This month's meeting is a game day featuring BINGO and refreshments and fellowship! We will also have an update on TRTA and 2026.
On February 9th (not a meeting) we will host a Craft Party. Pam Jucknies will guide us as we make flower arrangements for Easter.

Our members had a wonderful time at our annual District 20 Fall Conference. It was held at the beautiful Cana Ballroom in the Catholic Church in Boerne. It was exciting to have our Executive Director of TRTA, Tim Lee, deliver the key note address. There is still a little bit of work to do on the repeal of the WEP/GPO law that was repealed allowing retirees to collect Social Security. Tim Lee and his staff will not stop until everyone who is eligible receives their benefits. TRTA will continue to lobby for better retirement pay before the next session of the Texas Congress.
By attending meetings, reading the Inside Line and HCRSEA newsletters, retirees in Kerr County will stay well informed.

To all retirees, we have a wonderful, informative program planned for the October 20th meeting! Fellowship time starts at 9:30 with refreshments and friends. The program begins at 10:00 with our special guest, Clay Mitchell from Hill Country MHDD. We always close the meetings with a drawing for a door prize. Remember, we have moved from the Dietert Center to the First Presbyterian Church, Kerrville.

Hill Country Retired School Employees Association and AMBA want to invite all school retirees to a luncheon. This is absolutely free and is our way of congratulating and honoring retired school employees. In addition, AMBA is providing a free membership to TRTA (Texas Retired Teachers Association)! The date is set for September 22, 2025 at Los Jimadores Mexican Restaurant located on the Junction Hwy. The more members we can get to join TRTA impacts the Texas Legislature and their continued support and concern for our annuity. Share this flyer with all retirees that are not members of TRTA!

We are excited to see all our members on September 15, 2025 at our new location, the First Presbyterian Church at 800 Jefferson St in Kerrville. We will be in Ryan Hall. Social time is 9:30-10:00 and the meeting will begin at 10 a.m. Be sure and get a calendar for 2025-2026.
