Those of us who are good parents and caretakers do everything we can to keep our children safe.
We feed them healthy food.
We take them to the doctor.
We teach them to look both ways,
and we teach them to make good choices.
But how often do we teach them how to care for their mental health?
How often do we teach them what to do when they, or a friend, is struggling?
Let’s be real, sometimes our kids tune us out. And in their defense, understandably so.
I mean… we ARE are always talking, teaching, guiding and redirecting 😆.
That’s part of being a parent. But eventually, all that teaching by us can fall on tired ears, and they tune us out.
(insert teen eye roll here🙄)
We spend years offering safety advice because we love them.
Though, not all teachings have to come fully from us.
Sometimes the best thing
we can do is connect them to others, including real-world training.
Consider bringing them to this su***de prevention training.
It could give your child the confidence to recognize when something isn’t right and the courage to respond!
This training will help people know when to reach out, and what positive, and life changing skills those are.
Our next CALM (Counseling to Access Lethal Means) Su***de prevention training will be
Saturday, May 2
at Peterson Health Home Health and Hospice building
From 9am-2pm.
Lunch provided by Guadalupe Bank!
