๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Rest in Peace, Major Bruce P. Crandall ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

America has lost one of its greatest heroes.

Major Bruce Crandall, Medal of Honor recipient and Army helicopter pilot, passed away at the age of 93. During the Battle of Ia Drang in Vietnam on November 14, 1965, he repeatedly flew his helicopter into enemy fire to deliver ammunition and evacuate wounded Soldiers.

Despite overwhelming danger, Major Crandall completed 22 flights into the combat zone, helping save countless lives and embodying the Army value of never leaving a fellow Soldier behind.

For his extraordinary courage, selfless service, and unwavering dedication to his brothers-in-arms, he was awarded the Medal of Honor in 2007.

His actions became part of military history and were portrayed in the film We Were Soldiers, reminding future generations of the sacrifices made by those who serve.

Today, we honor a warrior, a leader, and an American hero whose legacy will continue to inspire Soldiers and citizens alike.

"Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."

๐Ÿ–ค ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Rest easy, Major Crandall. Your mission is complete. We have the watch.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Silver Star Service Banner Day ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Today we honor our combat-wounded, ill, and injured service members whose lives were forever changed by their service and sacrifice.

The Silver Star Service Banner recognizes those who returned from war carrying both visible and invisible wounds, including physical injuries, PTSD, Agent Orange-related illnesses, Gulf War Illness, and other service-connected conditions.

Created by the Silver Star Families of America, the banner serves as a lasting reminder of the sacrifices made by these heroes and their families in defense of our nation.

โค๏ธ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ’™ Today, we proudly recognize their courage, resilience, and sacrifice. May we never forget those who continue to bear the wounds of war long after the battle has ended.
