As our nation celebrates Independence Day and the 250th birthday of the United States. We pause to remember that the freedoms we enjoy were secured through the courage and sacrifice of generations of brave men and women who answered the call to serve. To every veteran, active-duty service member, and military family... THANK YOU! Your sacrifice is never forgotten.
This Fourth of July also carries a deeper significance for us at Courage Beyond Combat.
Our organization was founded in Kerrville, Texas—a community forever changed by one of the most devastating Hill Country floods in history. As we remember the lives lost, both adults and children, our hearts remain with every family whose life was forever altered by that tragedy.
We are especially grateful for the first responders who rushed into danger without hesitation, many not knowing if they would make it home to their own families. Their courage saved lives, but for many, the emotional toll continues long after the floodwaters receded. Today, countless first responders and survivors still carry the invisible wounds of trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, addiction, and PTSD.
At Courage Beyond Combat, we exist to walk alongside those who are hurting. Through a holistic approach to healing, we are committed to helping veterans, first responders, and others find hope, restore wellness, and reclaim their lives.
Today, we celebrate the blessings of freedom while honoring those who paid the price to protect it. We celebrate our nation’s resilience while mourning the precious lives that were lost. We stand with those who continue to grieve, and we remind them they do not have to walk this journey alone.
This Fourth of July, may we never forget that healing is possible.
There is hope. There is healing. There is courage beyond combat.
Happy Independence Day, and may God continue to bless our nation and all those who serve it.

Happy Father’s Day to all the heroes who proudly wear the title of Dad.

We honor the fathers who have answered the call to serve—not only their families, but also their communities and country.

On this Father’s Day, we celebrate the men who lead with integrity, love with compassion, and serve with selflessness. May you be reminded today that your sacrifices matter, your service is appreciated, and your well-being is important.

At Courage Beyond Combat, we remain committed to supporting the mental and physical health of those who have dedicated their lives to serving others.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month.

For many veterans and first responders, the battle does not end after the uniform comes off. Across our nation, thousands are silently struggling with depression, anxiety, PTSD, addiction, and su***de.

The data is difficult to ignore:

• Approximately 17 veterans die by su***de every day in the United States.

• Veterans experience significantly higher su***de rates than the civilian population.

• Nearly 29% of Iraq and Afghanistan veterans will experience PTSD during their lifetime.

• Veterans diagnosed with PTSD face su***de rates nearly double that of veterans without PTSD.

• The first year after leaving military service is one of the highest-risk periods for su***de and mental health decline.

• Female veterans experience disproportionately high su***de rates compared to non-veteran women.

At Courage Beyond Combat, we believe there is hope and recovery is possible.

We help veterans and first responders overcome mental health struggles and addiction.

No one should have to fight these battles alone.

If you are a veteran, first responder, or family member looking for help, reach out to us today. Even if you are not sure where to start, we are here to walk alongside you.

You served others. Let us serve you.

Courage Beyond Combat had the opportunity to host a booth at the Shatter the Stigma 5K this past Saturday, where we connected with some truly incredible people in our community.

We are proud to serve veterans and first responders across Kerr County and the Texas Hill Country, bringing comprehensive mental health recovery to those who have sacrificed so much for our nation. Mental health challenges remain one of the leading causes of disability in the United States, but there is hope!

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we provide mental health education and coaching that focuses on identifying and addressing underlying brain biochemistry through practical, evidence-based approaches such as lifestyle changes, nutrition for brain health, cognitive behavioral therapy, and much more.

If you or someone you know could benefit from this support, we encourage you to reach out and learn more.
