The Exotic Wildlife Association is excited to announce a new partnership with TruHerd that will bring EWA’s member-facing registry and membership app to completion and launch it for iOS and Android. The new EWA app will give members convenient access to registry and membership functions directly from their mobile devices, making it easier to stay connected and manage important EWA services from the field. As EWA’s exclusive technology partner, TruHerd will also provide every EWA member with free access to its Base Plan for managing herd records, animal health, lineage, genetics, properties, and more.

The Exotic Wildlife Association (EWA) launched its Economic Impact Survey of the Texas exotic wildlife industry in May 2026. We are grateful for the strong response received to date. While participation has produced statistically meaningful data, our goal is to gather an even broader cross-section of the industry to ensure the most accurate and credible results possible.

If you have not yet completed the survey, we respectfully ask that you do so today. The survey is completely anonymous, we have no way of identifying who has or has not participated. Your responses will help economists and researchers at Texas A&M AgriLife develop the most comprehensive assessment ever conducted of the economic value and impact of Texas' exotic wildlife industry.

Reliable economic data is one of the most powerful tools we have to educate policymakers, strengthen our advocacy efforts, defend our industry, and demonstrate the significant conservation and economic contributions made by exotic wildlife ranches across Texas. Every survey completed strengthens our voice.

Please take just three minutes to watch this message from EWA Executive Director Ken Yancey, then complete the survey. Your participation is an investment in the future of our industry and the wildlife we conserve. The survey will remain open until September 15, 2026 and we expect to have survey results by December 2026.

Please keep our EWA members in Palo Pinto and Jack counties, and all those in the path of the Ross Fire, in your thoughts and prayers. The wildfire has burned approximately 80,000 acres, threatening homes, ranches, and communities across the area as firefighters and first responders continue working to contain the blaze.

If you need assistance with your animals due to the fires, or if you are able to assist with finding, moving, feeding, or housing animals, please contact the EWA office at 830-315-7761. We will do our best to connect those in need with available assistance and resources.
