Keepers of the KERN The Wild & Scenic Kern River is a treasure and we must continue to protect it from abuse. "One person can make a difference, together we can make it right.

OUR CHANGE OF STATUS -
We are no longer a legal non-profit organization. This means we are no longer writing for grants and other donations to pay for our trash collection supplies, or to place additional dumpsters and portable toilets on the Upper River. It means we are no longer meeting on a predetermined regular schedule. However, we remain volunteer Trash Warriors who love our river and our

community. From time to time, we will gather as friends to support the River, the Lake, or other areas in the Kern River Valley. We will be sure to post those events here. And . . . the Mission statement below remains in our hearts. MISSION STATEMENT
Keepers of the Kern is dedicated to protecting, restoring, preserving, and enriching the quality of diversity and the delicate biological environment surrounding the Kern River corridor. We are committed to promoting education, to monitoring and to increase awareness in order to prevent further damage to the water and the environment. We will be good stewards and will engage in compassionate action to improve and maintain the health of the Kern River by bringing about changes necessary such as to increase management practices and reduced public abuse and overuse.
