Kern River Festival The Kern River Festival is the first festival of the season out west.

It plays host to the classic discipline of olympic slalom on the Kern and new school extreme kayaking with races on Brush Creek. Also part of the program is Standup Paddle Boarder Cross and the Build Your Own Boat and Race it, Hooligan Race.
