It is with a heavy heart that we have come to the conclusion we must cancel this year's Kern River Festival. Since our water is so low, The Brush Creek Extreme race will not be possible, as well as the downriver and any raft races. Even the Slalom would be compromised.
We have all discussed the possibility of having some events later in the summer on the Lower section of the Kern, so stay tuned since we will post when things start moving in that direction. In the mean time... keep paddling!

The Kern River Festival is the first festival of the season out west. It plays host to the classic discipline of olympic slalom on the Kern and new school extreme kayaking with races on Brush Creek. Also part of the program is Standup Paddle Boarder Cross and the Build Your Own Boat and Race it, Hooligan Race.

Yes! The Festival is a GO this year! We will have some great water for sure with the storms we've been having.
