This day is deeply personal to us, as we honor the memory of my beloved mother-in-law, who courageously battled stage 4 lung cancer. Her journey reminds us how urgent it is to raise awareness, advocate for early detection, and support those affected.
🫁 What You Should Know About Lung Cancer:
• It’s the leading cause of cancer deaths worldwide.
• Smoking is the biggest risk factor, but non-smokers can also develop lung cancer due to genetics, secondhand smoke, radon, and environmental toxins.
• Early symptoms are often overlooked, including persistent cough, shortness of breath, chest pain, fatigue, and unexplained weight loss.
• Early detection matters! Low-dose CT scans can detect lung cancer earlier when it’s most treatable.
✅ How You Can Make a Difference:
• Encourage loved ones to talk to their doctor about screenings, especially if they have risk factors.
• Share information and stories to break the stigma surrounding lung cancer.
• Support research organizations and nonprofits working toward better treatments and a cure.
• Offer emotional support to families affected—it means more than you know.
🕊️ Today, we remember those we’ve lost, stand with those still fighting, and keep hope alive for a future free from lung cancer.
Let’s turn awareness into action. Together, we can save lives.
