Kerens Community Development Committee

Kerens Community Development Committee To promote and encourage community development and citizen involvement. We strive to make our town a place everyone enjoys and is proud to call home.

The committee has completed a lighting project downtown with an investment of nearly $100,000 through grants, fund raising, an donated labor from various utility companies and volunteers. Our Garden Park is an ongoing project that provides an invaluable green space among our historic buildings and nearly century old brick street. Future projects are being planned and include: Welcome signs on majo

r highways, sidewalks for safe pedestrian travels to major businesses, historical markers to preserve our history, and preserving our downtown area for future generations. We welcome all volunteers who want to join us as we shape our community into a hometown that swells with pride.

Join us Friday, October 16, for God Bless America: A WWII Radio Hour, written and performed by Shellie O’Neal. As fictional radio host Sally Brennan, Shellie brings history to life through six beloved American anthems, the stories behind them and entertaining radio commercials from the era.
