Our 40 foot antenna came down from our Keokuk building today. A huge thanks to the professional crew from McDowell Crane for doing the work. This was the last thing we needed done before we officially end our ministry. Thanks to all who listened and supported local Christian radio through the years! National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) says in a news release that it approves of congressional action to cut some $1.1 billion of federal funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB).

That legislation now awaits President Trump’s signature. In early May, Trump issued an executive order calling for an end to taxpayer funds for public broadcasting.

“Ending federal funding for public broadcasting is a necessary step toward a media environment that is open, fair, and free,” said Troy A. Miller, NRB’s President and CEO. “Taxpayers should not be compelled to fund a media ecosystem that increasingly operates as a mouthpiece for one political perspective. Public broadcasting has long benefited from taxpayer dollars while excluding many voices, especially faith-based and conservative perspectives.”

Miller’s statement continues: “Religious broadcasters have operated for decades without government funding, sustained by the strength of their message and the support of their audience."

Ottumwa area listeners, we are sorry to report that 88.3 KQLF is temporarily off the air due to an internet outage. This also affects 102.3 FM in Fairfield. We should be back on the air later tonight.

Ever have a computer perform Windows updates at a bad time? Unfortunately, that's the issue with our on air computer this evening. We recently set it to not update automatically (like when we're not at the station), but it must have a mind of its own. Therefore, no audio on the LIFT FM network of stations til this bad boy finishes the updates...Sorry!
