Throughout the month of September, the Keokuk Art Center is featuring the photographs of Barb Lofton, Pete Peterson and Randy Riddle. Their show, "70 Shades of Gray: A Photography Exhibition" will open at the Keokuk Art Center Round Room Gallery, 210 N 5th Street on September 4th.

"70 Shades of Gray: A Photography Exhibition,” is a captivating exploration of black and white photography, curated by three photographers, each 70 years of age.

Showcasing the themes of landscape and architecture, the abilities of these artists reflect a lifetime of experiences and perspectives. Through their lenses, they share with us a journey of time, space, and emotion, all captured in the classic medium of black and white photography.

More than just a collection of photographs, "70 Shades of Gray: A Photography Exhibition," is a testament to the enduring power of creativity and the unique insights that come with age.

Join us for a beginner friendly watercolor class (even if you've never picked up a brush) with instructor Renee Donley on Wednesday, September 16th from 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM in the lower level meeting room, 210 N 5th St in Keokuk. Join us tomorrow at the Keokuk Art Center, 210 N 5th St (in the lower level of the library) from 9 AM - noon for open studio. Bring your project and supplies and enjoy conversation, collaboration and critique with others from the Lee, Hancock and Clark county area. Keokuk Art Center membership is required. Not currently a member? You can join for as little as $20 for the year and can do so when you show up.

If you haven't been in to see August's exhibit already, make sure you stop by the Round Room Gallery at 210 N 5th Street to see Jean Zaldivar's beautiful weavings. The show will be coming down the morning of August 31, so plan to come see them before then during the library's open hours.
