The Rotary Club of Glen Ellen/Kenwood is proud to donate $2,000 to FISH of Sonoma Valley, presented in support of Executive Director Arlene Holt and the incredible work their organization has provided to our community since 1971.

For more than five decades, neighbors in need throughout Sonoma Valley have turned to FISH as a vital safety net during times of hardship. Their services — offered free of charge — include:

Emergency and supplemental groceries
Rental assistance
Utility relief
Clothing
Medical equipment
Rides to medical appointments
Para transit and out-of-town bus tickets
Homeless assistance and support
Holiday food baskets


As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, FISH continues to embody compassion in action — meeting urgent needs with dignity, care, and respect.

Glen Ellen-Kenwood Rotarians Christina Boston and Russ Mccracken, spent this evening in front of Glen Ellen Village Market ringing the bell and greeting people to raise money for Friends in Sonoma Helping (FISH). FISH does great things for Sonoma Valley communities. Tonight our club hosted the first SCARC of the year. It was a GREAT turnout with 14ish clubs that attended! Special thanks to James Alexander (County Homeless Division Chief) for being the speaker; and club member Catherine Moylan-Jefferson for putting this event on.

From District 5280 Governor Albert Hernandez:
We have created a Wildfires Resource Page so all our clubs, members and partnering Districts can make a monetary donation, make resources available to those in need, seek resources and provide collaborative support in the ways of meals, water, blankets, etc.

🌍💛 District 5280 sends you a big THANK YOU for your emails, phone calls, texts and more. In the past few days we’ve received so much love that has turned into action. We’ve supported local agencies who are on the frontlines, we developed a Rotarian Relief Fund for our Rotarians who’ve lost so much. And we established a Disaster Relief Grant for our clubs to conduct service projects that directly support the impacted areas and our first responders.

Hello

Tonight was our annual GEK ROTARY Holiday Party. The speakers were three people from area homeless services program SOS (www.sonomaovernightsupport.org) we learned a lot about the program and its kitchen serving community homeless. We also wrote messages of hope to them in festive cards to be passed out later this month. Thanks to all members involved to make this happen tonight-especially to Kyle Fisher, Ann Peters and Past President Catherine Moylan-Jefferson!
