Blue Star Mothers - South Kent MI191 Blue Star Mothers serve our military and veterans. We are mothers who have sons and daughters that s

If you are a military mother in the Kent County or nearby area, please join us the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at the Amvets Post 23 at 98-52nd Street SE, Kentwood, MI 49508. If you have questions, please message us or email [email protected]. Blue Star Mothers of America is a national organization whose mission is to support our troops currently serving our country, to support our veterans that have returned to civilian life, to support the mothers of those children who are serving, or have served, our nation, and to promote patriotism and democracy. In addition to fundraising to support our mission, our local chapter also collects items for care packages and sends them to our troops serving overseas, with their moral and well-being being of utmost importance. We also support and work with local veterans agencies to further the care and support our veterans receive upon returning to civilian life. We also are here to help encourage and support all military mothers, those whose children are still serving or have served in the past. Especially those who have become Gold Star Mothers as their children have given the ultimate sacrifice by dying for their country.

💙 Military moms, there is a place for you here! 💙

Having a child in the military brings pride, questions, and moments when it helps to talk with someone who understands. Blue Star Mothers offers friendship, encouragement, and opportunities to serve alongside other military mothers.

Who can join?
Mothers, stepmothers, grandmothers, foster mothers, and female legal guardians of children serving in the U.S. Armed Forces—including the National Guard and Reserves—or who have been honorably discharged.

Whether your child is beginning basic training, serving far from home, or has completed their service, we would love to welcome you!

How do you become a member?

⭐ Find a local chapter and note its state and chapter number.
⭐ Complete the membership application online or use the printable application.
⭐ Pay the annual membership dues of $30.

WHAT A MILITARY MOM SEES 🇺🇸💙

Others see a uniform.
A military mom sees the child she once helped get dressed.

Others see strength.
She remembers scraped knees, bedtime stories, school pictures, and dreams about the future.

Others see a service member leaving for duty.
She sees her heart walking away with a duffel bag.

Others see a deployment.
She sees missed birthdays, holidays, empty chairs, late-night worry, and a phone she keeps close—just in case.

Others see bravery.
She sees sacrifice.

Others see the flag.
She sees the promise her child made to defend everything it represents.

And when that uniform comes home, she may see something others cannot—the ways her child has grown, changed, sacrificed, and served.

A military mom sees with two hearts:
one filled with incredible pride,
and one that never stops worrying.

Because no matter the rank, the uniform, the miles, or the years…

we still see our children.

⭐ We have hope.
⭐ We have pride.
