**Celebrating National Dog Day in Honor of Bruce Edward Harris III**
Today, on National Dog Day, we celebrate not just the joy and companionship that dogs bring into our lives, but also the extraordinary life of Bruce Edward Harris III—a man who embodied strength, responsibility, and love.
Bruce was the friend who always took care of others. Among his close-knit group, Bruce was the first to have a solid career and a good home. His home wasn’t just a place to live; it was a haven for his friends, where they always had a place gather or to sleep and feel safe. Bruce was the most responsible among us (Compliments to his incredible upbringing by his Father Bruce Edward Harris II and his Mother Kathryn Rzepka Harris) —Bruce always made sure everything was in order, whether it was cleaning up after a gathering or ensuring his friends were looked after.
Bruce was also a man of his word, adventure and unique accomplishments. He was an incredible snowboarder, a talented track athlete, and a skilled marksman. He even parachuted out of a plane, and in true Bruce fashion, he was officially recognized as a lord in Ireland, owning a piece of land that connects him forever to his Irish roots. Despite his many achievements, Bruce’s love for dogs was one of his most endearing qualities. He believed in their power to heal, comfort, and bring happiness—much like he did for all of us.
In honor of Bruce’s life and legacy, we created the Bruce Edward Harris III Foundation, dedicated to supporting humane societies and promoting mental health. Bruce knew how important it was to care for others, whether they were friends or four-legged companions, and through this foundation, we continue that mission.
On this National Dog Day, we invite you to celebrate the love and loyalty that dogs bring into our lives. Consider supporting your local humane society, adopting a pet, or raising awareness about the mental health benefits of having a dog. Bruce's legacy is one of care, responsibility, and love—let’s honor that by making a difference today, just as he did every day.
