Our union Labor Management Committee went to work and negotiated with management to bring Buck Pavilion back as an after-hours and emergency parking option for staff. It's back because we pushed for it!

Our bargaining team at Deaconess and Valley Hospitals in Spokane held our first negotiating session yesterday, standing united across two hospitals and five contracts to maximize our power and secure the best contract possible for our community.

Unfortunately, management from Multi-DON't-Care left the table after nine minutes and weren't willing to bargain with all of us standing together. We are disappointed but not discouraged, because we know that together we have the power to persist and push them to an agreement that uplifts ALL of us.

After months of hard work and countless actions including an informational picket in solidarity with our MultiCare union siblings, behavioral healthcare workers at Navos in Seattle have ratified a strong new contract that allows us to thrive, not just survive!

Highlights from our agreement include big wage increases for everyone, increased shift premiums, new trainer language, and more. We also stood strong and fought off MultiCare's efforts to weaken our contract through takeaways - we said NO, rejecting their proposed anti-union dues clause and protecting paid negotiation time for our bargaining team members.

By standing united, persisting, and never wavering from our core values on what we need to make Navos great, we ratified a contract that will improve our lives and the lives of our patients and communities. That's the union difference.

Over the weekend, we welcomed new delegates to 1199NW. ✊💟 22 new delegates from across 15 chapters in Washington and Montana completed the Delegate Leadership Workshop, bringing with them the experiences and perspectives of the members they are now stepping up to represent.

During the pandemic, Washington State called nurses and APRNs heroes — but now they are treating us like zeros. At the bargaining table, they are offering no livable wages, no meaningful layoff protections, no AI safeguards, no safe staffing measures, and no respect.

We are calling on the state to settle a strong contract that values state nurses and the critical work we do for Washingtonians. We won't stop fighting until we secure the contract we deserve.
