“I love my job and giving back to the community,” said Rosanna Perez, an environmental services tech. “I value being able to provide a safe environment for patients and make them feel well taken care of. We can’t afford not to have a union, and we deserve to have fair wages. St. Patrick has not kept up with providing a livable salary to its employees who in turn are able to contribute back to the community.”

The devastating fires in the Spokane area have changed countless lives in a matter of days. SEIU Healthcare 1199NW has set up a fundraiser to provide direct support to union members impacted by the fires as they begin to recover and rebuild. We are actively reaching out to members in the affected areas to connect them with available resources, and this fund will help bridge the gap where additional support is needed.

The Spokane Complex Fire has forced more than 60,000 people from their homes, and some of those people are our members. We are thinking of every coworker at Deaconess, Valley, Kaiser Permanente, Eastern State, Lincoln, Newport, and across Eastern Washington. We are with you, and we are working to coordinate help.

Latinos from all SEIU locals across WA came together to celebrate the exciting creation of the Pacific Northwest chapter of the SEIU International Latino Caucus! ✊💜

SEIU member leaders and officers stand strong in our commitment to keep working together to protect our immigrant neighbors at work and in our communities. Part of the commitment made was to build our power together and make sure that we elect the political candidates who will stand on the right side of history and work tirelessly to protect immigrants in WA and beyond.

Teresa Mosqueda, King County Council Member, spoke powerfully at the event and inspired us to keep up the important work and stand united to strengthen our power as Latinos in WA.

It was a great day filled with solidarity, community, hope, and union joy. ¡Si se puede!

RNs and Service workers at EvergreenHealth Monroe have officially ratified an amazing new contract! It took our bargaining team only two and a half days of negotiations to reach an agreement that will go far in recruiting and retaining great coworkers so that we can continue providing great care at EvergreenHealth Monroe.

✨Highlights of our new contract include 22.5% wage increases for RNs and 15-30% for Service over the life of the contract, filled ghost steps, year-for-year credit for past experience, per diem language, PTO protections, and much more!

Our unity and power are undeniable. When we fight, we win. 💟
