This week’s Family Meal brings a taste of Puerto Rico. 🇵🇷

Preorder: projectfeast.org/familymeal

This month, our kitchen traveled to the Caribbean as we explored the vibrant and soulful flavors of Puerto Rico, a beautiful island territory of the United States with a rich and complex history.

Puerto Rican cuisine reflects a blend of Taíno, Spanish, and African influences. It is a culinary story shaped by migration, resilience, and celebration. Puerto Rican culture is deeply rooted in family, music, and of course food. Cuisine plays a powerful role in preserving identity and strengthening community bonds.

At Project Feast, every global menu strengthens culinary skills and builds cross-cultural understanding. Food is our classroom and every dish tells a story.

We are excited to welcome our next cohort and share with them and you the cuisine of an important part of the United States. Our incoming students come from Afghanistan, China, Kenya, and Chad bringing with them their own rich culinary traditions and stories. Together, we will continue exploring how food connects us across cultures and continents.

Thank you for being part of our community and supporting our students as they grow, cook, and share their cultures with pride.

Happy New Year to our community! We are excited to share our Winter Program Schedule, starting off with the launch of our 2026 Workshop Series. These free workshops are designed to support individuals building skills for careers in food service and culinary fields, and participants will receive a certificate of completion from Highline College’s Continuing Education Dept for 15-hours of job training

Applications for the first two workshops are linked in our bio. Please share with anyone you know who might benefit from these programs.

•Culinary Workforce Development:
During this one-week workshop, participants who are hoping to enter the culinary workforce but face language, cultural, or other barriers will receive guidance on how to craft their resume, search and apply for culinary jobs online, and prepare for and practice interviewing. Emphasis will be placed on learning professional culinary English language and workforce expectations in the US food industry.
