We are passionate parents who have children with developmental disabilities, professionals who care about people with disabilities and valued community volunteers. We founded this Organization in June 2009 after more than a decade’s collaboration on projects specifically designed for serving and supporting multicultural families with family members with developmental disabilities and special health care needs.

We’re Hiring: Case Manager, CPRC Family Support

Join Open Doors for Multicultural Families (ODMF) and help culturally and linguistically diverse families of children with disabilities access the resources, services, and support they need.

What you’ll do:
Support families in navigating disability and special education services
Connect families with resources and community supports
Attend meetings, including IEPs, to support family advocacy
Conduct community outreach and build partnerships
Provide culturally responsive support to families

What we’re looking for:
Fluent in Spanish and English
Strong communication and advocacy skills
Experience or knowledge related to disability services, special education, or community resources
Commitment to working with diverse families and communities

This role is based in Kent, WA and is a hybrid position.

The Multicultural Village is taking shape!

Since the beginning of 2026, Open Doors for Multicultural Families has reached significant milestones, including securing financing, obtaining permits, breaking ground, launching construction, and developing new community-centered programming.

Today, the project is more than 15% complete and remains on track for completion in 2028.

The Multicultural Village will bring together inclusive early learning, family support services, and programs designed to empower multicultural families and people with disabilities in one welcoming community space.

While construction is progressing on schedule, we still face a $1.1 million construction funding gap and additional fundraising needs to support future programs and operations.

IDD is more common than we think. IDD is an umbrella term that includes disabilities such as autism, Down syndrome and intellectual disabilities. Too often, families face barriers to accessing information, services, education, healthcare and community resources. Everything can change 🫶🏽. At ODMF’s recent conference, families gained new advocacy skills, connected with local resources, explored assistive technology, and built relationships with others who understand their journey.
