Our meeting this upcoming Thursday will be Sigma Tau Delta's Valentine's Day celebration. Come prepared with one of your favorite love poems - it can be one you've written, or one you love to read! We will also be having various games and snacks throughout the evening!

Our meeting times are 4-5 pm on Thursdays in Satterfield Hall, room 117.

The first meeting of the 2020 semester was a success! At the meeting, we discussed what the new semester has in store for us as an organization. We plan to have several different professor speakers who will discuss life with an English degree, special topics in fiction and literature, and more.

Our officer team is in the process of organizing our annual book sale, the proceeds of which will be funding our chapter's trip to Las Vegas, Nevada for the 2020 International Sigma Tau Delta Conference. Our president, Emily Palombo, will be presenting a paper entitled "Caddy Compson: Sister, Hero, Protagonist" at the conference. She is the only presenter from our chapter.

If you would like to donate books for our book sale, you may drop them off at 204 Satterfield Hall.

In other news, Kent State's literary arts magazines are still accepting submissions. Luna Negra, open to all undergraduate students at Kent State, will be accepting submissions until Jan. 27. Brainchild, the other literary magazine on campus, is open to members of the Honors College from a variety of universities from the region. Brainchild's submissions will remain open until Jan. 25 -- TOMORROW. Please submit your work to these magazines through their Submittable pages.

Luna Negra will also be sponsoring an Open-Mic Poetry reading at Scribbles Coffee Co. this weekend, Jan. 26 from 4-6 pm.

Hello everyone! We hope you had a wonderful winter break, and we wish you luck in the upcoming spring semester.

This semester, our meetings will be held on Thursdays from 4-5 pm in room 117 in Satterfield Hall. In our first meeting of the semester, we will be going over some crucial information for the upcoming semester including information for the International Sigma Tau Delta Convention (taking place in Las Vegas, Nevada this year), spring inductions, English department awards and scholarship opportunities, and future meeting activities. We will also be composing a schedule for this semester so our members can have a better idea of what each meeting will cover.

This meeting will also be a potluck, so bring some snacks if you would like to! The officers will be providing some to share if you forget or do not have the means to bring any food as well.
