Voting is the best way to express gratitude. What are YOU grateful for? Whether it's a parent, friend, nutritious food, shelter or safety, voting in a democracy is essentially an act of care and concern for others. It is how we look out for our neighbors, our families, our nation and ourselves.

In this video made by ICL youth and adults, ICL student Karen shares what she is grateful for. You too can take care of your neighbors, your family, your nation and yourselves. VOTE and get others to VOTE!

We are excited to be part of Omar's initiation. He is one of the youngest anchors in Annenberg history. And this is the first broadcast to be led by two Latino anchors. It is quite an accomplishment.

The best way you can take responsibility to increase voter turnout is... YOU PLUS ONE!

Recruit someone you know who does not personally vote – a coworker, neighbor, family member or friend. Meet with them. Go to their home, invite them to yours, go to a coffee shop. Ask them to vote. You do not need to get them to vote for the policies or people you support. Honor the sacredness of the vote.

If we each as Washington voters bring one new voter with us to the polls next election, we can quickly double the number of people turning in ballots. We can reach 100% voter turnout.

ICL honors our dear friend Ranger Betty Reid Soskin, the National Park Service's oldest active ranger at the age of 100. During her time as a ranger Soskin sought to shed light on experiences of women of color during the second world war. At 104 years, she passes on, yet the wisdom she has left us will live on far longer.
