While working in law enforcement to keep our community safe, Eric Drever has also selflessly devoted 15 years of his time and energy to the protection of our most vulnerable newborns. First as a member and then as President of the PICC's Board of Directors, Eric has been a compassionate leader of our mission--providing the best possible care for drug-exposed infants. His unfailing dedication and thoughtful guidance has given these little victims of drugs a gift beyond measure—the gift of a safe and healthy start on their life’s journey. We can never thank Eric enough for his love and support of PICC’s babies, but all of us at PICC join his friends and colleagues in wishing him joy and blessings in his life’s new chapter.

The Washington State Legislature has completed its supplemental budget, and PICC was not included for funding. While this is a disappointment, it’s not a defeat. Our commitment to providing care and safety for drug-exposed and medically fragile infants remains strong.
Our office is open, and we are actively exploring sustainable and innovative ways to continue serving vulnerable infants in today’s changing care landscape. We look forward to sharing more as our plans take shape in the weeks ahead.
To our dedicated staff and faithful supporters, thank you for standing with PICC and for caring so deeply about these babies. Please keep them and PICC in your thoughts and prayers.

PICC urgently needs your voice.
Because of the loss of state funding, Pediatric Interim Care Center has been unable to receive placements to care for drug-exposed newborns since July. The Washington State Supplemental Budget now moving through the legislature could restore that funding — but only if lawmakers hear from constituents like you right away.
At a time when infant deaths and injury from fentanyl have risen alarmingly, safe medical care for these vulnerable babies matters more than ever.
Please take a few minutes today to tell your legislators to protect the babies and restore funding for Pediatric Interim Care Center in the Supplemental Budget. Here's the link to make your voice heard: https://app.leg.wa.gov/pbc/bill/5998

UPDATE TO OUR SUPPORTERS: WE'RE STILL HERE!
As you may have seen in the media, PICC has been forced to suspend its infant care program after 35 years of safely caring for 3,500 drug-exposed newborns. This was caused by Governor Ferguson's veto of PICC's state funding, allowing DCYF to cancel PICC's state contract for the placement and care of drug-exposed infants. This has been a sad and deeply troubling time, and we are immensely grateful for the media representatives, legislators, and thousands of caring people who have rallied to our cause. We want you to know that we are still here and fighting for a future that will allow PICC to continue to care for these vulnerable babies. We are open and operating administratively, and we will keep you informed about upcoming events and ways to get involved. For now, we invite you to contact your state senator and representatives--not just on behalf of PICC, but also, and more importantly, on behalf of of the drug-exposed infants whose lives and welfare are being endangered by current state policies.

💛 GiveBIG for the Littlest Victims of Drugs
Washington’s GiveBIG campaign is now underway, and your donation to Pediatric Interim Care Center will help give care and comfort to newborns withdrawing from prenatal exposure to fentanyl and other drugs. These vulnerable babies face challenges from their very first breath, but together we can give them a safe and healthy start in life.
