Our thoughts and hearts are with all those affected by the wildfires in Spokane. The local community has banded together to support one another with the local school district providing immediate support for families with children and Spokanimal providing services for families with pets, as well as countless other organizations who have set up systems for support.

You can help support the community, as well. This Spokesman Review article (https://bit.ly/4wWcNXL) includes information about what is happening and three links you can use to donate to those who have lost their homes and/or need support during this time (links are also in the image).

We will continue to post as more opportunities arise. Please reach out to WEA if you know of additional ways to help those impacted.

For those joining in on the parade, we will be staging behind/near the old KVELC building and 5th and Saar. We will meet up at 12:30, parade starts at 1pm. Look for the red shirts!

This weekend join KEA at Kent Cornucopia Days. This is a fun event and a good way to participate in our community and city.

We have the booth shifts mostly covered but need more folks to join us in the parade. The route is short, sweet and we won’t be in the heat! Temps will be in the low to mid 70s for the first time in 4 years.

The deliberations, discussions, and debates happening here this week are so important to members in Kent, Washington, and across the entire United States.
