Come discover how the tradition of Call and Response helps us communicate through music, storytelling, and shared lived experiences. Together we’ll write songs, build community, and celebrate every voice in the room.

Lady A's Blues and Blessings Foundation is proud to announce we have been awarded a grant from the Community Funding Program by the City of Bellevue for our Call and Response: Finding Your Voice in Community workshop series.

We look forward to bringing this community engagement experience to the residents of Bellevue this summer so be on the lookout for more information on how you can participate for Free!

Meet our Founder
Lady A ~ The Real Lady A, is a Washington Blues Society multi-Award winning Blues-Soul performing artist, Community advocate, Teaching artist, Workshop facilitator and the heart behind Lady A's Blues and Blessings Foundation.

Rooted in lived experience and guided by faith, this new work as foundation leader centers Music, Community-care and Connection as tools for building strong, supportive community.

Through music, service, and shared humanity, Lady A created this foundation to uplift seniors, support youth, and stand with those in in our shared communities, turning Sound into Service and Blessings into Action!

Our Mission

Lady A's Blues and Blessings Foundation (LABB), uses music, mentorship, and cultural connection to uplift and empower communities. Rooted in Black and Indigenous traditions, we serve youth, seniors, and musicians with programs that heal, educate, and inspire with a strong focus on Black youth, elders, and displaced communities.

“Centering Black voices, while honoring lived experience and empowering all communities through music.”

SERVING:
Mentor and inspire youth ages 8 and up especially Black, Hispanic, and rural students in Seattle’s South End communities, whose families have been displaced by gentrification over the last decade.

Provide powerful workshops for musicians of all ages that nurture creativity, life skills, and purpose through music.

Engage seniors and musicians over 60 with programs that keep them active, connected, and honored including those no longer able to perform publicly.

Create safe and empowering spaces for cultural learning, where young people can explore their roots, identity, and life choices through music, movement, and service.

Support unsheltered and underserved communities with music-driven outreach, wellness, and compassion-centered care.

We believe in the power of music to pass down wisdom, shape identity, and build community.

Through every note, rhythm, and story, we carry forward the voices of those who came before and empower the next generation to rise while understanding giving back to those underserved in our community is as important as the talent they have been blessed with.
