What an exciting time for Lady A's Blues and Blessings Foundation!

A BIG thank you to HB Tread and Robin for supporting our Call and Response: Finding Your Voice in Community workshop and showing up for the entire series! And to everyone else who came out, participated, listened, shared and joined the conversation ~ WE APPRECIATE YOU!

Special thanks to our facilitators, John Oliver III and Shakura S’Aida, for sharing their time, expertise, knowledge and lived experiences with the community.

There were some GREAT conversations! Through Call and Response, we explored a different style of communication, one that opened the door to bigger conversations, deeper listening and people simply opening up and connecting in community.

LOVED IT!!

So today was Lady A's Blues and Blessings Foundation and City of Bellevue Call and Response: Finding Your Voice in Community Workshop; and OMGosh… today’s class was AMAZING! 🙌🏾💜

We had a few folks show up, met some wonderful people who promised to come back next week, and I walked away feeling so full.

It is truly a privilege to be able to do community work outside of the stage, connecting with people, listening to their stories, sharing experiences, laughing, learning, and finding our voices together.

Our guests today were ENGAGED! They had so much to share, and we had some wonderful moments through storytelling and Call and Response exercises.

We even got to encourage a young woman who was doing laps around the park, because sometimes community happens with the people who came for the workshop, and sometimes it happens with the people you meet along the way. ❤️

And THIS is exactly what Call and Response: Finding Your Voice in Community is about — connecting, communicating, listening, responding, and reminding each other that every voice matters.

Come join us next week!

Wednesday, August 19th
12 Noon – 2:30 PM
Crossroads Park – Shelter 1
FREE and open to the community!

Our facilitators Shakura S’Aida, John Oliver III, and yours truly, Lady A, can’t wait to welcome you!

Bring your voice. Bring your stories. Bring YOU.
