Family ran donation drive to help local children stay Safe, Warm, & Dry throughout the holidays.

Words cannot describe the amount of JOY it brings us witnessing the amount of folks willing to GIVE JOY.

Typically, many would say they want to help while only few do so. This year, the few are many!!!! Enormous thanks to the many few who stepped up and helped our drive achieve ALL goals! Between in-person, Amazon and monetized donations we not only hit our goals, but surpassed them!

Diapers/Pull-ups: 1,105/1,000 (111%)
Misc. Items: 116/100 (116%)
Winter Coats: 51/50 (102%)

This is an incredible milestone for The House of Scruggs’, and it’s all thanks to those who chose to help us on a path towards empathy and change. Together, we expand the opportunity to keep more local children Safe, Warm and Dry this winter.

Thanks to another incredible donation we only need 15 coats to hit our final goal. I repeat, ONLY 15 MORE COATS!

While WestSide Baby collects majority of their items gently used, some things you just can’t distribute as such.

On top of the original list, hygienic items are more than welcome!

-Baby/Kid Shampoo
-Toothbrushes
-Baby Lotion
-Body Wash
-Diaper rash cream

A pack of 10 toothbrushes is equivalent to 10 Misc. Items closer to our JOY Drive goal! No donation is considered “too small”. If you’re at the store this Sunday, pick up a $1 toothbrush and drop it off at The House of Scruggs! Lights go on around 4pm!

In under 24 hours we received another generous donation of 298 more diapers!!!!! With less than a week left, let’s keep this momentum going!!!

Side note - when volunteering at WestSide Baby’s warehouse, I learned that only a small amount of donated items are store bought brand new. If you have any gently used coats or pajamas your kiddos outgrew, send them our way!

"Few people realize that unlike other essentials such as food or health insurance, there is no federal assistance for purchasing diapers. SNAP (or Food Stamps) and WIC (Women, Infants and Children – supplemental nutrition program) do not cover diapers.

Two more coats came in today, bringing our coat total to 16%! Long way to go with a little over a week left for our JOY drive.
We’re still at 0% diapers and steady 44% in misc. items.

Updated signage has been added to our display and the lights go strong each night, but we still need additional support. Share our page with friends & family, like our posts, come visit our display! Any contribution no matter how big or small has a huge impact on children in need.
