WHAT DOES 2026 HOLD FOR GIVING FOR GAMBIA?

So all our fundraising efforts this year will be to raise money to update the school toilets.
The school have asked if we can help them to renovate their toilets so that they are more hygienic and suitable for the children and staff to use as these are their current ones!!!!!
So please help support us we will be continuing with our Boot Fairs this year so happy to receive your donated items to sell and are hoping to host another quiz evening - watch out for details - thank you ###x

OUR FINISHED LIBRARY👏👏

So yet again another wonderful trip and the welcome we received from the school was overwhelming. They are absolutely delighted with their finished library as this time we provided them with desks, lighting, ceiling fans and a water station to complete it.
We spent a few days there working with the children in the library and they were such fun and keen to learn.
This would never have been possible without all of your support and donations.
Thank you again to Gemini Lighting for their support and Wainscott Primary School for the donation of all the exercise books we were able to take to the school.
We also again distributed the many clothes you have donated to the community and they are gratefully received.

So as the end of the summer draws near we would like to once again say a big thank you to all those who have supported us.
We have had a bumper year for Giving for Gambia so many donations that we had to do 3 Boot Fairs which were all a great success in the wonderful sunshine, we have also sent 3 shipments out to Gambia.
So Tracy’s garage is now closed (except for any clothes donations) until next April.

We have not fitted in a quiz this year we have been busy with other things but we will be looking to hopefully do one in the early part of next year so get swatting!!!!

The schools are now beginning to start back and our, now rapidly growing number of sponsored children are all looking very smart in their new uniforms with all their books, etc thanks to their generous sponsors and we wish them all well in this new school.

We would also like to once again thank Gemini Lighting for their continued support, Larkfield WI for choosing us as their charity to support and finally to Wainscott Primary School for their fabulous donations of exercise books which we will be delivering to the school in January.

Tracy will be heading out to Gambia in the new year with the funds raised to complete the library and spend time with some volunteers working in the school so watch out for updates ###x

Last call for clothes donations for Gambia as we are preparing to send our final shipment for this year in the next couple of weeks so please if you are planning to donate please could we have your donations as soon as possible.
BOOT FAIR
Also we are doing our third and final Boot Fair on Sunday 31st August so again please let us have any donations towards that by then.
SONSORSHIPS
Finally we are so delighted at how our sponsorship programme is growing and are now in the process of organising our sponsorship programme for Sept 2025/July2026 so if anyone is interested in sponsoring a child’s education next school year please contact Tracy or Toni for further information.

For some children to be able to attend school they have to walk over an hour to get there every day and then home again.
So we have managed so far to ship over 30 bikes to distribute to the children who live the furthest away in order to make that journey a little bit easier for them.
We are currently in the process of distributing the 9 bikes that we most recently shipped out. So thank you to those who have donated bikes and we hope you are happy to see where your bikes/childrens bikes have ended up.
For these children they are so thrilled to be able to receive a bike xx

A really successful morning at our first fundraising Boot Fair thanks yet again to your wonderful generosity, although today was a bit chilly🥶😂😂. We are planning the next one for the end of June and then our final one in September so please keep those donations coming 👍👍.
We even had other stalls holders donating items to us to sell wanting to help us raise extra money😂😂👏👏.
Just to remind you that all monies raised are going towards putting the finishing touches to the new school library xx

THE DOORS ARE OPEN!!!!

This year Giving for Gambia have committed to raising further funds to expand the library that we opened in January earlier this year. The school would love to have some desks and chairs in there for the children to use as a study area and we would love to be able to give them these plus they need more shelving for the books.
The school having no access to technology for the children have also asked whether we could raise funds to help them purchase a computer or a laptop or alternatively if you or anyone you know has any unused ones that you could donate that would also fabulous.
We are looking for donations as always of much needed clothes both children and adult to send out to the Gambia.
Also please donate any unwanted items that we can take to a Boot Fair to sell, this has proved so successful in the last two years as a fund raiser that we plan to do another couple again this summer.
So have a good sort out over the Easter Break and let’s start filling Tracy,s garage again🙄🙄🙄😂😂.
