Hey all, Steve Mayer is missing a Kayak. It disappeared sometime between the Thursday winds and Saturday morning. It is a blue Pelican Kayak. Hopefully it was the winds and not stolen. If it drifted to your place, please let them know.

ONE LAST UPDATE - THE SURVEY IS TOMORROW (6/29), THEY JUST CONFIRMED IT. SORRY FOR TWO WRONG DATES 🙂 AquaTechnex, the company that helps manage the invasive w**ds here on Star Lake, will be doing a survey early the week of June 26th (rescheduled from a couple weeks ago). This is to understand what types of invasive w**ds are in the lake and where they are. That information is used to plan a future treatment to control these w**ds (which is done every 2-4 years here). They will be using a gas-powered boat, which they are allowed to do per King County. If you see them, say hi and be friendly, don't yell at them for having a motorboat! (FYI, their website is here - https://aquatechnex.com)

AquaTechnex - Our business has been at the forefront of the fight to protect our water resources for over 40 years.

(Update, this was canceled due to poor weather, rain creates bad visibility for the survey, it will be done early the week of June 26th, 2023, instead) - AquaTechnex, the company that helps manage the invasive w**ds here on Star Lake, will be doing a survey tomorrow (Friday, June 9, 2023) to understand what types of invasive w**ds are in the lake and where they are in anticipation of a future treatment to control the w**ds (which is done every 2-4 years here). The King County Noxious W**d Program will be putting on three free noxious w**d workshops in the coming months. The first of which is very useful for people living on/near Star Lake:

Lake W**d Watcher Training 2023
This workshop will be in-person, focusing on aquatic plant/w**d identification. There is no need to commit to being a Lake W**d Watcher, everyone is welcome. That workshop will be at Beaver Lake Lodge in Sammamish on Monday, June 26 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm).

The other two workshops are not just about aquatic w**ds, but still useful:

Into the W**ds: King County Annual W**d Management Workshop Series
These two workshops are online/live video trainings that will focus on terrestrial w**ds and a variety of topics related to noxious w**ds. One is on May 10 (8:00 – noon) and the other on May 17 (noon – 4:00).
