This sweet little boy has one mission in life—to be as close to his people as possible. Some puppies burst into a room like they've known you forever...

Hershey likes to take just a minute to make sure you're one of the good ones. 💛

He's a little shy when meeting new people, but once he realizes you're a friend, his goofy, playful personality comes shining through. Before long, he's happily playing with his toys, wrestling with his foster siblings, and curling up next to you on the couch for a well-earned nap.

We believe Hershey is a Chocolate Lab/Pittie mix, and he has the perfect combination of curiosity, sweetness, and fun.

Hershey does wonderful with other dogs and kids. He hasn't had the opportunity to meet cats while in foster care, but with patient introductions and guidance, we believe he has the potential to do well with feline friends too.

Like any growing puppy, Hershey is working on all the important basics. He's making excellent progress with potty training, leash walking, and basic obedience, and his foster family says he picks up new skills quickly. He's eager to learn and loves making his people proud.

🐾🩷 Meet Victoria! 🩷🐾

9 Months Old • Spayed Female • Border Collie Mix

Every rescue dog has a story...

But Victoria? She has a story that will have your friends saying, "Wait... WHAT?" 😳

You may hear us call her Victoria... or sometimes Victor. And yes, there's a reason for that.

During what everyone expected to be a routine spay surgery, our veterinarian made a discovery that surprised everyone in the operating room. Along with a uterus, Victoria also had testicular tissue—a very rare congenital disorder of s*x development. It's the first case we've encountered at Mastro Mutts, and while it certainly makes for an incredible story, the important part is this: everything that needed to be removed during surgery was removed, and today Victoria is healthy, fully recovered, and ready to focus on what really matters—finding her forever family.

Now that we've gotten the most interesting fun fact out of the way... let's talk about the amazing dog behind the story.

Victoria is a 9-month-old Border Collie mix with a heart every bit as beautiful as her unique beginning.

She does wonderful with other dogs, kids, and cats, making her an easy fit for many different families. She's already potty trained and kennel trained, and while leash walking is still new to her, she's gaining confidence every day with patience and encouragement.

Victoria has a medium energy level, making her the perfect combination of adventure buddy and cuddle companion. She's happy to play when it's time to play and equally happy to relax when the day winds down.

If you ask Victoria what her favorite toy is, she'll answer BALLS! 🎾 Throw one once, and you've made a best friend for life.

Although she's grown into a beautiful young dog, Victoria sometimes forgets just how big she is. She thinks she's much smaller than she is and occasionally gets a little too enthusiastic during playtime. It's all part of her goofy charm.

Beneath that playful personality is an incredibly sweet girl who is still learning that the world is a safe place. Because of that, we're looking for a home with a secure fenced yard and another confident dog who can continue showing her that life is full of good things. Having a canine role model has made a tremendous difference in helping her build confidence.

And if there's one thing Victoria loves almost as much as tennis balls...

It's water. 💦

Whether she's splashing around or stretched out in a kiddie pool soaking up the sunshine, she's convinced every summer day should include a little swimming and a little sunbathing.

When Helen first came into rescue, she and her siblings were battling demodectic mange, a skin condition caused by naturally occurring mites that can overgrow when a puppy's immune system is still developing. While it looked frightening, the condition is not contagious to people or healthy pets. With excellent veterinary care, plenty of love, and time to heal, Helen has made an incredible recovery. Her skin has healed beautifully, her coat continues to fill in, and she's more than ready to start the next chapter of her life.

Helen has been very well socialized and does wonderful with other dogs, kids, and cats. She loves being around people and fits right into the middle of whatever is happening.

She's already potty trained and kennel trained, and she's continuing to work on basic obedience and puppy manners in her foster home. She's eager to learn and loves making her foster family proud.

Helen has a medium energy level, making her the perfect balance of playful and cuddly. While we can't say for certain what breeds make up Nora's DNA, our best guess is that she's a Lab/Pittie mix. She's full of love, full of personality, and full of energy that's sure to keep her future family smiling.

Nora has been very well socialized and does fantastic with other dogs, kids, and cats. She absolutely loves playing with other pups and would be thrilled to have a canine sibling to wrestle, chase, and burn off some of that puppy energy with.

His skin has healed beautifully, his coat continues to grow in thicker every day, and he's ready to leave that chapter behind as he searches for his forever family.

Edgar has been very well socialized and does wonderful with other dogs, kids, and cats. In fact, he's the kind of puppy who naturally looks after the younger pups around him. His foster family lovingly calls him the best big brother, because he plays hard, loves even harder, and always seems to make sure everyone is included.

He's already potty trained and kennel trained, and he's working on his leash walking skills. Edgar likes to be in the lead, so he's learning that sometimes the best adventures happen when you walk together.

With a medium energy level, Edgar is always ready for a game, especially if it involves fluffy toys, sticks, or a nice muddy puddle. Mud? He thinks it's one of life's greatest inventions.

This sweet, goofy boy is also incredibly smart. He's figured out how to climb out of a puppy pen and would much rather spend his time following his humans around anyway. Wherever you are, Edgar wants to be right there beside you. He isn't just looking for a family—he's looking for his people.
