Looking for a fun-loving, energetic guy who would rather be outside playing than sitting around watching the world go by? Meet Bubba! 💙
Bubba is a 2-year-old boy with plenty of personality and energy to go around. His favorite things include chewing on bones, spending time outside and rolling his toys around the yard. 🎾 Just don't expect him to bring them back—fetch isn't really his thing. 😂
He currently lives with older female dogs and has even managed to convince them to join in on the fun from time to time. He's also very interested in the neighbor's dogs and, according to his owners, does well with both other dogs and children. Bubba has not had experience living with cats, so his owners aren't sure how he would do with them.
While Bubba is a social guy with his family, large groups of people can make him uncomfortable, and thunderstorms make him a little nervous. ⛈️
So why does Bubba need a new home?
Bubba's family originally rescued him in February 2025. At the time, they were expecting a baby and anticipated that their 9-year-old son would be able to take on a big part of Bubba's daily playtime, feeding and walks.
But Bubba did something puppies are pretty good at doing—he grew! And he grew a lot bigger and stronger than they expected. Their son is no longer able to safely handle him on walks, and with another baby arriving in December, his family has realized they simply cannot give this energetic boy the amount of exercise, structure and individual attention he needs.
Without enough outlets for all that energy, Bubba has developed some unwanted behaviors in the home, including chewing furniture and children's toys, marking and playing too roughly at times. His family feels that in a home able to provide him with more consistent activity, attention, training and appropriate ways to burn off his energy, Bubba will have a much better opportunity to thrive.
This isn't about finding Bubba just any home. It's about finding him a home that fits the dog he has grown up to be. ❤️
Bubba would love a family ready for an active, energetic companion who can give him plenty of exercise, enrichment, boundaries and continued training—and, of course, a good supply of bones to chew. 🦴
