After 15 years of working to increase the number of Kenosha softball players and their competitive level of play, the 2016 season will be the final one for the Kenosha Cyclones Fastpitch Club. Please read the message below:
Hello all,
Fifteen years ago, the Kenosha Cyclones Fastpitch Club was created in order to increase the number of softball players in Kenosha and their competitive level of play. A humble plan quickly led to a large, successful program that has annually provided opportunities for up to 110 youth softball players to train and compete.
That success, however, has required a massive, year-round time commitment that has fallen on the shoulders of a small group of volunteer coaches and administrators. For Amanda and myself, the responsibilities have become too much to balance with other aspects of our lives. As a result, we have decided that the current season will be the final one of the Kenosha Cyclones. We will officially close the program after the completion of the summer season.
I know this will be a great disappointment to many girls and their families. Indeed, parting ways with so many great kids and parents is the most difficult part of this decision for both Amanda and me. But we thought this was the best time to make this announcement so that everyone could consider their future plans as we complete this summer season.
Thank you to all of the players, parents, coaches, and community members who have contributed to the success of the Kenosha Cyclones over the past fifteen years. Although this is a sad time for all of us, we are confident that the seeds have been sown and fastpitch softball will continue to flourish in years to come.
Sincerely,
John and Amanda
