The Kenosha Chamber Choir, formerly the Kenosha Choral Arts Society and previously the Carthage Masterworks Chorale, has been sharing music with the Kenosha/Racine community and beyond since 2005. The Society has collaborated with the Racine Symphony Orchestra to present major works such as the Bach Magnificat, the Mozart Requiem, and the Faure Requiem. For the 2011 fall season, our group was prou
d to combine forces with Alan Heatherington, the Kenosha Symphony, and the Chicago Master Singers to present “The Many Moods of Christmas” on Sunday, December 18, 2011. Our Spring 2012 performance was a wonderful collaboration with David Schripsema’s Fine Arts at First Spring Concert featuring our choir joined with the Festival Orchestra performing Schubert’s glorious “Mass in G”. Since then the Kenosha Chamber Choir has grown to become it's own force in the Kenosha music scene. We continue to do collaborative works with the Kenosha Symphony Orchestra Having performed Handel's Messiah this past December (2013) both with the KSO and at our own venue in the Beautiful and historic St. St Matthews boasts the oldest church in Kenosha and in all of Wisconsin. It's beautiful Gothic architecture and vaulted cathedral interior makes for one of the most explosive performance venues in Southeastern Wisconsin. In our quest to become the premiere performance group in Southeastern Wisconsin we continue to grow our ensemble through the amazing music talent cultivated in Kenosha and the surrounding area. With performers joining our group from such prestigious organizations as the Master Singers of Milwaukee, The Choral Arts Society of Southeastern Wisconsin, and the Florentine Opera in Milwaukee we have been able to make a substantial impact on the music scene. We pride ourselves on not only on our performance quality but also our learning environment. We welcome all levels of singers and are designed that even the beginning novice can walk in and learn the tools and techniques to grow their own musical abilities. Many of our membership have degrees in music education, music performance, and offer voice instruction. We believe that through teaching we grow not only our organization but our community as well. Membership ranges from as young as 16 to as old as (cough)...
