May is Bladder Cancer Awareness Month

At Warrior Sisterhood, we stand beside every warrior, survivor, caregiver, and family impacted by bladder cancer. Awareness saves lives, and early detection matters.

Take time this month to learn the signs, support those fighting this battle, and remind the warriors in your life that they are never alone.

Together we fight. Together we support. Together we raise awareness.

Today is Melanoma Monday, a reminder for all of us to take a moment for our health.

Skin cancer is one of the most common cancers, but itโ€™s also one of the most preventable. Check your skin, schedule that appointment youโ€™ve been putting off, and donโ€™t forget your sunscreen, even on cloudy days.

Early detection saves lives. We stand stronger together, lifting each other up, reminding each other to take care, and fighting every battle side by side.

April is Esophageal Cancer Awareness Month

At Warrior Sisterhood, we stand alongside every woman facing a cancer journey, raising awareness, encouraging early detection, and supporting one another every step of the way.

Esophageal cancer can be difficult to detect early, which is why listening to your body and speaking up about symptoms like trouble swallowing, persistent heartburn, or unexplained weight loss is so important. Awareness can save lives.

This month, we also encourage everyone to take small, meaningful steps toward prevention, prioritizing a healthy lifestyle, attending regular check-ups, and advocating for your health.
If you or someone you love is navigating this diagnosis, please know you are not alone. We are here, together, in strength and sisterhood.

No one should face cancer alone.

๐ŸŽ‰ Big news for Warrior Sisterhood! ๐ŸŽ‰

Below is the nomination:

I attended a recent retreat that was organized for the members of Warrior Sisterhood. It was such a beautiful and much-needed experience. For me, it seems that nobody really prepares you for what happens after active cancer treatment ends. The world seems to expect you to bounce right back to โ€œnormal,โ€ as if everything should just fall back into place. But the truth is, the physical, emotional and mental side effects donโ€™t disappear when treatment does. Youโ€™re still healing, still adjusting, still finding your way.
Every activity was so thoughtfully planned and organized by Christy. It was clear how much love and care went into every detail.
The self-care gift bags put together by Christy and the board members were beautiful and full of meaningful and useful items that made me feel seen and cared for.
From roundtable sessions that created deep connections and reminded me that none of us are alone, the wide variety of meal options, to the organized activities, crafts, and keepsakes to remember the weekend by, we were utterly impressed.
Christy even created a home-cooked dinner on Saturday, such a thoughtful touch and sent us home with leftovers!
Every bit of the hard work that went into the retreat was deeply appreciated and this is just one example of the profound effect that Christy's volunteer work has on our organization.
The impact would be without definition. She goes above and beyond to do so many little things for our organization that we would not know where to begin without her. We could still have the same type of meetings, the same type of fundraisers and the same chemo bags l, but the personal touch she puts into every step would be missing and we wouldn't know where to begin to find the creativity, the motivation, and the satisfaction that comes from Christy's loving heart and mind that goes until all that she does.
Christy is in charge of membership for Warrior Sisterhood, where we are dedicated to supporting local women at every stage of their cancer journey.
She organizes gatherings that are designed to foster connections and strengthen bonds through various sisterhood activities. We celebrate life, share stories and support each other in a private setting.
Throughout the year she helps to organize various fundraisers to support our programs and give back to the community. The funds raised are reinvested. Warrior Sisterhood provides Chemo Bags โ€“ care packages filled with items to help comfort women starting chemotherapy treatment locally, helping continue our mission and expand our reach. Warrior Sisterhood provides Chemo Bags โ€“ care packages filled with items to help comfort women starting chemotherapy treatment.
Christy puts so much time, effort and money into all of these activities, monthly membership meetings, fundraising events, chemo bags. She really makes the members of our organization as well as the women in our community that are struggling with a cancer diagnosis feel like they are supported and no one fights alone.
She puts special personal touches into everything she does with gifts, words of encouragement and exciting activities that enrich our lives and make us look forward to the next time we can get together.
Christy put her whole heart and would into organizing and volunteering with a diabetic camp program for children through Trios every year. More information can be found on the Trios website.
She is the best and deserves to be recognized for her many years of selfless dedication, all while being a cancer survivor herself.

March is Kidney Cancer Awareness Month

At Warrior Sisterhood, we stand beside every woman facing a kidney cancer diagnosis with strength, compassion, and unwavering support. Kidney cancer often develops silently, with symptoms that may not appear until the disease has progressed, which makes awareness and early detection so important.

No one fights alone. Together, we are stronger. Together, we are warriors.
