Things are really hopping with United blind of Tri-Cities. We have about 40 members currently and we expect 30 of them to attend our Christmas party on December 3. We continue to meet several times monthly for social activities now the card party is usually in a persons residence in the book group as well sometimes in the residence sometimes at a senior center. We also continue to meet once a month for a purely social lunch somewhere in the Tri-Cities. We have two new readers reading the TriCityHerald to us which brings our total up to about 15 readers and that's probably as many listeners listening on the special receivers. Anyone who is blind as alwaysg can request a special receiver which is free readings are usually at 8 o'clock in the morning. We continued to be a resource for information about resources and services for people who are losing their vision

The United blind of the Tri-Cities stays active after 40 or 50 years now. We currently have about 40 members who are blind or visually impaired. With the closing of the Edith Bishop center we've had to move our activities around a bit. On our first Friday lunch is continuing to move from place to place as we want to keep things interesting. correction that's our first Tuesday lunch continues to move around. On the second Tuesday we now are meeting for our card party at Sherry Dubbin's and on the third Tuesday we are meeting at Park view Estates for our book group the fourth Tuesday meeting is our local tech group and that continues to move around as well. We also are supporting the can you reading of the TriCityHerald on the special SCA channel tv The paper is ready at 6:30 and 8 o'clock each morning but you need a special receiver to receive it and you need to be blind or visually impaired to obtain such a receiver.
