Recently, B5 evening English learners put their language skills into practice through a hands-on baking activity supported by Kennewick Kiwanis. Students practiced giving directions, following instructions, measuring ingredients, asking questions, and working together—all in English. Keep going. 📚 This spring, 16 B5 adult English learners achieved at least one month of perfect attendance—while many were also working, raising families, and managing the responsibilities of everyday life. To celebrate, each selected a book of their choice, made possible through a local Barnes & Noble fundraiser. You’re invited to the B5 Annual Costume Gala!

Join us Wednesday, October 28 at the Red Lion Hotel Pasco for an evening supporting B5 Learning Center and the immigrant and refugee families we serve.

Come in costume or come as you are — and enjoy dinner, a silent auction, Raise the Paddle, costume contest, and a night centered around the mission of B5.

Nine weeks of learning, growth, adventure, and summer fun — what a season it has been at B5!

From robotics, drones, STEAM, photography, cooking, chess, fitness, kayaking, hiking, and swimming to field trips, creative projects, community outings, and plenty of time to simply be kids, every week brought something new.

We wrapped up the summer by helping every child head into the school year with a new backpack and school supplies — and this week, our B5 Youth Afterschool Program is already back in action!

We are so grateful to the staff, volunteers, community partners, donors, families, and friends who helped make these nine weeks possible.

Most of all, we are proud of our incredible students and excited for everything still ahead.

That’s a wrap on B5 Youth Summer 2026!
