Students are invited to apply for two $1,000 scholarships that will be awarded at each school. The scholarships are awarded to deserving students, regardless of race or ethnicity, who promote the principles of Dr. King by their demonstrated commitment to school, community, family and faith. The application and guidelines are on our website, www.mlkcommunity.org. CHANGE FOR CHANGE mobilizes the Kennett area to help feed and care for the hungry among us by donating spare change and online donations of any amount so that area Food Cupboards can provide grants to needy families for food, housing, and emergency assistance. The community brings containers or jars of coins to the Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union, Baltimore Pike, Kennett Square, for counting, receipts (and hot coffee) on Saturday before Dr. King's Birthday in January. All proceeds are distributed to Kennett Area Community Services Food Cupboard or Avon Grove Bridge Food Pantry (donor's choice)
