Join the Brandywine Muzzle Loading Long Ri**es Club for a frightful assortment of targets to challenge novice and experienced shooters! Enjoy some friendly competition and camaraderie as we start winding down the season.

🎯 MATCH DETAILS
• Flintlock, percussion, and in-line muzzleloaders
• Patched round ball, conical bullets, and Minis; iron sights
• Handicaps will be in effect
• 8 target sets — plan on 5 rounds per set

💲 ENTRY FEES
• $10 for BLR and/or SCCS&FA members
• $15 for non-members
• Youth under 12 are FREE!

🏆 Prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place!
🥽 Eye and ear protection required.
🥪 Please bring your lunch.

🟠 Have you heard about Pennsylvania’s new State Game Lands orange requirement?

Visitors who aren’t hunting, trapping or fishing must wear fluorescent orange October 1–January 31 and April 20–May 31.

Wear 250 square inches on your head, chest and back combined OR a fluorescent orange hat, visible from all directions. Shooting-range users are exempt.

🐾 Add orange to pets and backpacks, too! Stay aware of hunting seasons, respect fellow outdoor users and enjoy the outdoors safely.

🎃 **Join Us for the Inaugural Sportsman Pumpkin Carve!**

SCCS&FA members and their families are invited to join us on **Saturday, October 10, from 1:00–4:00 PM** in the Club Camping Area.

Enjoy pumpkin painting and carving, a hayride, food, refreshments, and plenty of fall family fun! Pumpkins and all painting and carving supplies will be provided.

🥓 **THE ANNUAL BACON MATCH IS BACK!** 🥓

Join the Brandywine Muzzle Loading Long Ri**es Club for its yearly Bacon Match at the Southern Chester County Sportsmen’s & Farmers’ Association—and yes, the prizes are bacon!

📅 Saturday, September 12, 2026
⏰ 10:00 AM
📍 50-Yard Range at SCCS&FA
720 Sportsman Lane, Kennett Square, PA 19348
🌦 Rain or shine, within reason

The match will consist of eight targets with five rounds fired at each target.

Match categories include:

• Patched round ball, conical bullets and Minie balls
• Flintlock, percussion and in-line muzzleloaders
• Iron sights
• Handicaps will be in effect

Entry fees:

• $10 for Brandywine Long Ri**es and SCCS&FA members
• $15 for non-members
• Youth under age 12 shoot free

🥓 Bacon prizes will be awarded for first through third place!

Eye and ear protection are required. Participants should bring their own lunch.

🚨 **Labor Day Range Closure Reminder**

All SCCSFA pistol, r***e and trap ranges will be closed on Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day.

Labor Day is one of only three days each year when the Club’s ranges are closed. All other Club facilities and grounds will remain open.

We wish all our members and their families a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend!

The SCCSFA has lots to offer. This is a great time of year to check out our family camping area! We supply the nicely cut grass, tables and firewood! Check the website for more details!

Twenty-eight individuals registered for our recent Community CPR/AED, First Aid, and Stop the Bleed course and spent the morning with us refreshing old skills, learning new ones, and becoming better prepared to respond during an emergency.

We appreciate everyone who took time out of their weekend to participate. These are vital skills that can make a lifesaving difference when every second counts.

SCCSFA typically offers these educational programs several times a year. If you are interested in attending our next class, watch our social media pages and email announcements for registration information.
