There are moments in life when you know youāre exactly where youāre meant to beāstanding in a quiet pasture, listening to the steady breath of a horse, watching someone soften for the first time in a long while. Thatās the heart of Healing Horse Touch.
This nonprofit grew from a simple wish: to offer a calm, welcoming place for people who are overwhelmed, hurting, or carrying more than they can hold alone. Trauma survivors, caregivers, neurodivergent individuals, and anyone seeking emotional grounding come here to reconnect with themselves through the gentle presence of our horses. We volunteer our time, run programs from our home, and do everything we can to make sure cost never becomes a barrier.
But caring for horses and maintaining a safe environment requires real, physical work. One of our most pressing needs right now is a tractor. A reliable tractor would help us manage manure, maintain footing in our pastures, improve accessibility for guests, and safely haul hay and suppliesāall essential tasks that directly affect the health of our horses and the quality of the experience we offer. Itās the kind of practical, behind-the-scenes tool that keeps our sanctuary running smoothly.
Today we applied for . One of the recommendations is to say on social media why we believe we should receive this grant. That is a complicated question! There are so many people in need and making a big impact in the world. If we were to win this grant, the majority of the grant would go toward this tractor project. Itās not glamorous, but it is transformational. It would allow us to steward our land responsibly, care for our horses more efficiently, and welcome more visitors without compromising safety or well-being.
I believe Healing Horse Touch deserves this support because we are pouring our hearts into creating a place where people feel seen, supported, and restored. A tractor may seem simple, but for our small nonprofit, it would open the door to deeper impact and greater accessibility.
Thank you, Gusto, for celebrating small businesses making a difference.
