Hearts 4 Others www.hearts4others.org exists to encourage strength and confidence in special needs kids through Taekw Very ninja!

We operate a few different workshops, hoping to appeal to the special needs community as an easy option to get the kids active. All of our classes are lead by Marcus, age 11 with support of certified instructors from the martial arts school. 1) In-School workshops, 2) evening school based gatherings and 3) free classes at ATA Martial Arts in Kennesaw.
1) In our on-school workshops we provide a dem

onstration of martial arts to the students, then train the class on basic self-defense and a few taekwondo moves. We have them demonstrate what they have learned by breaking a board. We bestow a white belt to these students and hope that becomes an invitation to return In the 2012-2013 school year, we were invited to 6 schools to provide a workshop during the PE class time. We have put on a 30 minute to over 1 hour workshop on site. The time depends on what the class/teacher has available. These are active classes, not a sit and watch demo. I have had students from sensory issues that watched and did not participate to wheel chair CP and Downs. We are good with all of it and expect participation at their own rate.
2) We can come do the same thing as above to any organized school evening meetings that gather the parents and students.
3) We ran a successful series this summer at ATA Martial Arts in Kennesaw that will be expanded into a regular FREE class (schedule TBA). This is a follow up to the in-school workshops for students wanting more.
