Students who participate in ACT-SO, compete with other students (locally) in up to 3 of 32 categories which includes sciences, humanities, performing arts, visual arts and business. The local competition serves to showcase the hard work students have put in all year long. Students receive medals and prizes provided by the local and regional sponsors and contributors. ACT-SO Students who receive go

ld medals on the local level then compete at the National Competition where they receive prizes and other rewards provided by national sponsors.

Join us as we continue the celebration of 100 Years of Black History with a special evening honoring the incredible legacy of ACT-SO.

This will be an ACT-SO Alumni Showcase celebrating talent and the journeys of our alumni since their competition days. Throughout the evening, alumni will share their gifts, their stories, and answer the question… “Where are you now?”

We are inviting alumni to:
• Perform
• Volunteer
• Share your journey after ACT-SO

Following the showcase fundraiser, there will be a special reception exclusively for ACT-SO alumni to reconnect, celebrate, and continue building the legacy together.

Tickets: $60

ACT-SO New Jersey celebrates the major achievement of Maleah Joi Moon from New Brunswick for securing a role in Alicia Keys' production, Hell's Kitchen! The show features revamped renditions of popular songs like Fallin’, If I Ain’t Got You, Un-Thinkable (I’m Ready), and Empire State of Mind, alongside The Gospel and Work on It from Keys’ 2016 album Here, as well as Like Water from 2021’s Keys. Alicia Keys expressed in an interview with Vogue, "You’re hearing the songs that you love, but in ways you’ve never heard them before." With a cast of 20 and the largest budget ever allocated at the Public Theater, the musical is set to make a significant impact. Maleah Joi Moon, portraying the lead role of Ali, has been praised by Variety Magazine as a powerhouse, and Alicia Keys herself declared that a star is born. Congratulations, Maleah – we are proud of you and your accomplishment!
