That's why we established the Sybil Ludington Foundation .. to tell the stories of our great military children who are doing great things, whether it be big or small in their homes, families, schools, and/or communities.

Have you found your purpose? ...

Wanted to share something on my heart..

The biggest thing that has kept me going in this life has been to find my purpose on why God put me here. It took a while, but it was finally revealed. My purpose is to help and encourage people. Period. That simple. That takes on many forms. When there are times where I cannot serve my purpose, I am miserable.

Find your purpose. A part of it will include serving others in some capacity. Only you and God will know what that will look like. It may take you a while, or not, to find out what it is. Ask Him. He created you. He knows why He put you here. When you find your purpose, you will find fulfillment and joy.

This past week, CEO Christina Bowser and CFO Stephanie Boutwell had the priviledge of visiting Carr Creek Elementary in Hazard County, KY. Many of the children at the school were directly effected by the severe flooding of Knott County and surrounding areas last year.

As poverty is already high in these and the surrounding counties, we at the Sybil Ludington Foundation were privilidge to be able to sponsor a day for 14 young ladies to attend a stained glass studio in Harlan County, KY. (pictues coming soon) Because of the devastation of the homes and surrounding areas, many of the families are struggling to recover. As an effort to help, in addition to the backpacks donated by United Military Care to our Foundation, we will be collecting school supplies for the children at Carr Creek Elementary. The backpacks and supplies will be delivered to the school in July to be used in August when school starts. Every little bit helps. Thank you in advance for your consideration in donating to this very big need.

We are excited to announce we will be streamlining our mission to focus on encouraging and supporting military children. As Sybil herself was the daughter of a military officer, we can honor her by honoring and supporting other military children who have and are demonstrating strength, leadership, courage, and resilience. We will award those children with scholarships, awards, and recognition for the great work they are doing and high standard character they are exhibiting. We welcome you to follow us on our journey as we find these children and make an impact not only in their lives, but in the lives of their families.

What a wonderful time we had at History Cherokee Derby Day on Saturday! Thank you to Executive Director, Stephanie Joyner, and her team for putting on another great event! We were a proud patron sponsor for a second year, and had an amazing time participating in their silent auction, bourbon tastings, pony pulls, and food tables.
