Yesterday, PVGC’s Installation Luncheon was definitely “Pretty in Pink”! Our officers for the 2026-27 year are from right to left: Connie Baer, President; Mary Beth Verdigets, Vice President; Wendy Trocquet, Secretary; Debbie Albert, Treasurer; and (not pictured) Debbie Settoon, Parliamentarian. Award recipients were: Member of the Year, Wendy Trocquet, and Garden of the Year, Sandy LaCour & Edel Paddock. Thank you to Kathy Bevis, Marie Celino and Linda Doyle for chairing this beautiful and delicious event! 💗💚🌴

PVGC’s “Can’t Wait for Spring” February meeting provided an abundance of information on spring garden prep and prizes galore from our featured speaker Tucker Banton of Perino’s Home & Garden Center. Also, we were so excited to celebrate Debbie Settoon’s honor she received this morning from Jefferson Parish for her selfless contributions and service over several decades. After our meeting, a delicious brunch prepared by several of our members was enoyed in Kathy Hayes lovely home 🌹🪻🌸🌺🌷🌻🌼💐🥀🪷

Yesterday our PVGC members were amazing and finished 18 pallets in 3 hours to create 780 boxes in all for our Seniors in need at Second Harvest!!! Thank you to the 14 of you who signed up to volunteer and share your time and energy today! And to Wendy Troquet, our Charity Chair, for organizing this event. She said, “Everyone did an AWESOME job! It is always a joy to spend time with such wonderful people. We made a nice team fighting hunger in our community. Let's do it again!!!”💚🌴

Warm hugs and hot chocolate were shared at our 1st meeting of 2026 on the 1 year anniversary of Snowmageddon!!! Chris Belzer was an amazing speaker with his presentation on “Gardening, Wellness and You”. Committee chairs presented the upcoming events for February through May, the award for funniest winter hat was given, and many won the Plant of the Month and centerpieces raffle. It was a great meeting followed by a delicious lunch!

PVGC’s annual Christmas luncheon celebrated our many blessings this year with “All that Glitters is Gold” including our 35th Anniversary as a club and the dedication of our relocated planter! Our own Kenner City Councilman Joey LaHatte was present for a champagne toast with our club, several members shared their personal memories and, we recognized 6 of the founding members that were present. We also gave back to our community with a gift to Eden Centers for Hope and Recovery for the second year in a row, and heard how our gifts were distributed to 3 local families in need. Members were also honored with awards for best Christmas wreaths, lights and garden for December. It was truly a very special and festive event with gorgeous decorations and event planning by Marie Celino! Wishing you all a joyous Christmas and a fabulous New Year!!!

PVGC collected money from our members to give back to our community. Our Charity Commitee, based upon recommendations from St. Philip Neri’s priest, then adopted 3 families and went shopping to fulfill their wish list! ⛪️🎁🎁🎁🙏🏻

‘Tis the season for PVGC’s 3rd Annual HoHoHo (Holiday Hotel Hop). December 1 we kicked off the season with 5 hours of fun with a delicious jazz brunch at the Court of Two Sisters 🪕, 5 festive hotel stops 🎄(Roosevelt, Ritz Carlton, Monteleon Carousel Bar, Royal Sonesta & Bourbon Orleans), and numerous cocktails 🥂🍾🍷🍸🍹🥃
