As Fr. Austin Barr begins his new assignment at St. Catherine of Siena, we give thanks for the friendship, faith, and joyful service he has shared with Deacon Larry & Andi and Hope and Purpose Ministries.

It has been a blessing to serve alongside him and witness his love for Christ and His Church. While we will miss seeing him at Divine Mercy Parish, we know God has great things in store for this next chapter of ministry.

Please join us in praying for Fr. Austin as he continues to bring the love and mercy of Jesus to all those he serves.

God bless you, Father Austin—you will always be part of the Hope and Purpose family.

From the Atmosphere of Our Audience with Pope Leo XIV and the Worldwide Catholic Charismatic Renewal

Andi Oney shares her reflections in one special moment from our time in Rome during our audience with Pope Leo XIV and members of the worldwide Catholic Charismatic Renewal. We were grateful for this opportunity to gather with believers from around the world in service of the Gospel and the mission of the Church.

Prayer and Sacred Liturgy Gathering 🙏✝️

After our audience with Pope Leo XIV, the international community gathered for prayer, reflection, and the celebration of the Sacred Liturgy. It was a beautiful time of worship, fellowship, and praying for one another as we continue the mission of bringing Christ to the world. ✨🕊️

As their mission in Rome comes to a close, Deacon Larry reflects on a grace-filled week spent with Catholic leaders from around the world, an audience with Pope Leo XIV, and prayer at the tombs of St. Peter and Pope Benedict XVI.

Their hearts are full as they prepare to bring home the Holy Father's message: a renewed call to the Baptism in the Holy Spirit, evangelization, and the mission of building up the Kingdom of God.

Thank you for your prayers throughout this journey. Please continue to pray for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the Church and all those called to share the Gospel.

Come, Holy Spirit! 🕊️✨

🎥 From Rome, the Eternal City

Listen to Deacon Larry Oney and Terry Quinn as they share their excitement from Paul VI Hall, just moments before Pope Leo XIV addressed the worldwide Catholic Charismatic Renewal.

Surrounded by believers from every nation, Terry reflected on the beauty of the universal Church:

"When I looked around the hall and saw people from all nations, I thought, this is truly apostolic, truly Catholic—the universal Church. I'm blessed to be home."

Come, Holy Spirit! 🕊️✨

Day 3 in Rome, the Eternal City

Yesterday was a truly historic and grace-filled day for the Catholic Charismatic Renewal.

Along with thousands of Catholic leaders, clergy, religious, and lay faithful from around the world, we gathered in Paul VI Hall at the Vatican to hear the words of Pope Leo XIV. It was a profound moment to be united as one Church, one family, seeking a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit for our time.

Pope Leo XIV encouraged us to remain rooted in Jesus Christ, open to the Holy Spirit, and faithful to the mission entrusted to the Church. His message was both inspiring and challenging as he called us to continue bringing the Gospel to a world in need of hope, healing, and renewal.

Throughout the day, we were reminded that the Catholic Charismatic Renewal is not simply an event or movement, but a call to deeper conversion, greater unity, and a renewed missionary zeal.

It is a privilege to be here representing Hope and Purpose Ministries among believers from every corner of the world, witnessing what the Holy Spirit is doing across the global Church.

As we continue these days of prayer, fellowship, and formation, we ask the Lord to stir up a new Pentecost in our hearts, our families, our parishes, and our communities.

Come, Holy Spirit!

Day 2 in Rome, the Eternal City

Yesterday was a full and grace-filled day as we traveled from our hotel to the retreat center where many of the international attendees were gathering for this historic time of renewal.

We had the opportunity to reconnect with Deacon Darrell Wentworth of CMAX Media Corp, Father Hayden, Johnny Bertucci, Katia Roldi Zavaris — the leader of Brazil CHARIS — and many other Catholic leaders from around the world who have come together in expectation of what the Holy Spirit is doing in this hour.

Andi also had the opportunity to represent our group during today’s breakout sessions, listening and discerning what the Holy Spirit is saying to the Church through the Catholic Charismatic Renewal.

As the day came to a close, there was a growing sense of anticipation and excitement because today is a very special day.

Today, we head to the Vatican — specifically Paul VI Hall — to hear the words of Pope Leo XIV to the Catholic Charismatic Renewal for such a time as this.

Please continue praying with us from Rome as we prepare our hearts for what the Lord desires to do.

Come Holy Spirit!

Andi and I have safely crossed the Atlantic Ocean after a 9+ hour flight, and we have arrived in Rome, the Eternal City, at the invitation of Pope Leo XIV and the CHARIS International Leadership Team.

We have connected with Al and Patti Mansfield from New Orleans. Patti will be giving one of the key presentations at this international gathering.

As we gathered ourselves and made our way from the airport to our hotel for one night before moving to the monastery tomorrow, we encountered the Missionaries of Charity — Mother Teresa’s sisters — walking through the airport in Rome in their beautiful habits. We also met one of the many young interpreters who will be serving during this worldwide gathering beginning tomorrow.

On Saturday, we will enter Paul VI Hall to receive the presentation from Pope Leo XIV and join Catholics from around the world for this historic gathering of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal.

We are already praying for you here in the Eternal City and will continue to keep you updated on our journey and mission in the days ahead.

Come, Holy Spirit!
