Seashore Trolley Museum

Seashore Trolley Museum Founded in 1939, we are the world's first and largest electric railway museum. All Aboard!

Take a tour around our campus; you'll find several outdoor displays that show the history behind mass transportation. Explore our three exhibit carhouses and then witness the restoration process of a trolley from the observation gallery in our restoration shop. Hands down, the favorite part of a visit to the Seashore Trolley Museum is the chance to ride an antique trolley out along a rebuilt porti

on of the Atlantic Shore Line Railway, once an electric interurban route. Our volunteer Operators and Conductors will share the story of bygone era and answer all questions you have about transit history.

Our Restoration Apprentice Metis Tucker is heading back to Rhode Island School of Design; today’s her last day with us. She helped us with our Nagasaki 134 restoration in 2019 and came back to help us finish this summer. She also helped us maintain the controllers in Connecticut 303 & 1160. Please join us in wishing her well her junior year!

It’s playground o’clock and we’re pouring the rest of the concrete today! Thank you to Rick Whetstone, Alan Parks, John Ware, Seth Reed, and even Seashore’s Cake Artist is helping (she’s smoothing out the concrete surfaces; a very transferable skill). We’ll be installing 6” of playground mulch next week. Unfortunately, we received an incorrect slide, see the last picture for why, so we’re waiting for the manufacturer to send a replacement. When that happens, we will be able to open this up to guests to enjoy!
