Over the years, the KCA has used is membership dues to conduct projects in the best interest of the Kennebunk Beach community, such as financially supporting the circle garden at M

other's Beach, upgrading the sitting area at Gooch's Beach, and working with the Tommy McNamara Foundation to install a ramp for wheelchairs and carriages at Mother's Beach. Are summer residents being treated fairly?

The Town's own data shows that Coastal Residential properties generate the highest residential taxes per acre—about $13,651 per acre.

Yet under the proposed beach permit changes, year-round residents will pay less, while summer and part-time residents will pay more for the same beach access.

If coastal property owners are already contributing more in property taxes, why should they also pay higher beach permit fees?

This isn't about full-time versus part-time residents. It's about fairness and making sure Town policies reflect the facts.

Great news! The Kennebunk Select Board has voted to send its 2027 Beach Parking Permit decision back to the subcommittee for reconsideration after hearing significant public feedback.

KCA joined the Salt Meadow Landing Homeowners Association in supporting the petition, which collected 244 signatures. Thank you to all of our KCA members who spoke up and helped make your voices heard. We look forward to a fair solution for both year-round and part-time Kennebunk property owners
