Campers are making the most of the beautiful weather, soaking up the last days of summer with plenty of fun as the back-to-school countdown begins!

We invest in summer camps like Kendallville's Camp Wethonkitha because they intentionally provide a space that offers meaningful choice, freedom of movement, and activities that promote healthy development.

Steuben County (IN) Youth Pod, FIST, hosted a pickleball tournament to celebrate its 30th year of youth philanthropy.

These 8th-12th graders planned and executed this community event, resulting in $3500 awarded to local non-profits, selected by the winning teams.

When young people learn and practice philanthropy, an entire community can benefit!

We always enjoy time together with our Grant Review Committee members and visiting organizations we have supported..

We started our day at the Community Foundation of Whitley County before heading over to the Giving Gardens of Indiana. After we explored where nature becomes a classroom ( 😉 ) we enjoyed a tour at the Armstrong Early Learning Center showing our committee one of the principle-based learning environments in the community. We then spent time at the The Center for Whitley County Youth before enjoying a peaceful evening together at Pottery Bayou in
Winona Lake.

The Center for Whitley County Youth finished up a recent renovation project and leaders shared some pictures in their final grant report.

When asked about results, they shared, “On the very first day, students walked into the space and quite literally spent the first ten minutes circling the room giggling, exploring, and taking it all in. It was such a meaningful moment for our staff and a powerful reminder of how much this space matters to our students.”

This intentional space provides opportunities for young people to cultivate healthy relationships while strengthening their resilience and increasing their self-worth.
