Attention Barrel Racers,
The ANE Foundation is gearing up for our 3rd Annual Barrels for Education, and we’re looking forward to another meaningful weekend supporting our youth.
As a reminder, 100% of proceeds from this event directly support children and young adults through educational assistance, including college scholarships, tutoring services for all school ages, and school supplies. The ANE Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, operated entirely by volunteers. No board member or volunteer receives any financial compensation from the foundation or its fundraising events.
As we plan this year’s show, we would love input from our contestants. While we recognize it’s impossible to accommodate every preference, our goal is to produce the best possible event for everyone involved.
We are considering two potential formats and would appreciate your feedback:
Option 1: Increase added money and host a barrels-only show having Open, Aged, Futurity, and Derby classes, with significantly more added money in each class.
Option 2: Reduce added money in order to also offer poles and/or flags, as we have in the past.
As an IBRA Super Show, we are required to add a minimum of $4,600 for barrel racing over the weekend. If additional classes are added, the barrel added money will remain capped at $4,600, with remaining funds allocated to poles and/or flags.
Please also keep in mind that adding additional classes will result in longer days. We know late nights aren’t ideal, but they are sometimes unavoidable when offering more classes.
Additionally, footing quality is a top priority for us, and we will continue to drag every five runs throughout the weekend, which also impacts timing.
We truly value your input and appreciate your continued support of this event and the mission behind it. Thank you for helping us make Barrels for Education the best it can be.
