🇺🇸✝ As we observe 2026, our Scouts have been practicing moments of silence for our fallen heroes and learning how to respect the to prepare for the upcoming ceremony this Saturday evening at 7 PM at the Kendall Town Park.

We hope to see the community at this event to honor those who have served and protected our nation.

🚴 🚴‍♀️ Happy 2026! This Spring, our Kindergarten and First Grade Cub Scouts learned the fundamentals of and practiced !

🦁 Lion and 🐯 Tiger Cub Scouts can earn bike-themed adventures focusing on safety, gear check, and riding. "Let's Roll Lions" (Kindergarten) and "Rolling Tigers" (1st Grade) electives involve learning safe riding rules like hand signals and lanes, proper helmet use, and taking a ride with family or dens to build confidence, with options for training wheels and balance bikes.

They also review the "ABCs of My Bike" from Scouting America, teaching all parts of the moving machine:

B="Brakes" 🛑 levels, cables, and pads
C= "Chain" ⛓ crank, levels, pedals, and cogs

🐾 Cub Scouts honor by participating in "Good Turn" service projects. Last week, we teamed up with the Kendall Troop #94 to place American flags 🇺🇸 on Veterans' graves in local Kendall cemeteries. We practiced moments of silence and how to respectfully carry, fold, and place the flag.

These annual activities teach reverence, patriotism, and respect for fallen service members, often involving community ceremonies in Scouting like the annual flag retirement and support at the Kendall Memorial Day Ceremony. ⚜

🛠 ⚙ Our Cub Scouts do A LOT of building and wood working, so we decided to consult the pros at Orleans Millworks to understand safety with tools and large machinery and see how the wood we use for our projects is made from raw materials!

🐻 Bear Cub Scouts (3rd graders) and ⚜ Webelos Cub Scouts (4th graders) participated in adventures this year involving small carpentry projects, called "Baloo the Builder" & "Build it" respectively. These projects level up the engineering and building skills learned in the Pinewood Derby car fabricating and challenge Scouts to gain exposure to new tools and materials along the way. 🌅 These activities culminate in the "Engineer" elective for 5th graders where they must study a scientific field and create a project using the engineering process.

We'd like to give a HUGE thank you to Karl for his demonstrations!

We even had time after to play together as a pack at the school playground. 😎🏞

🌉 Our Scouts have Crossed Over to the Troop! Congratulations AOLs on your accomplishments!

⚜ In March, the Kendall Cub Scout 5th graders each selected a local troop to join as they matriculate from Cubs to Scouts! Then, during a ceremonial ranking as Arrows of Light (5th grade "Den" level), bridge walk, and neckerchief placement by our guest Troop leaders, the Cubs officially joined their new Troops! During the ceremony, parents were also recognized for their years of dedication to the Pack. AOL Den Leader, Popcorn Kernel, and Advancement Chair Jo Marie received the "Pack 3094 Heart Award," distinguishing her heart-filled devotion to her roles while upholding the highest standards of Scout programming for our 5th graders this year and pumping non-stop life to the Pack.

We were proud to host BSA Girl's Troop 813 from Spencerport, Hamlin BSA Troop 324, and Girl's BSA Troop 1920 from Penfield where Hazel, Henry, and Addy crossed over into. We will miss you all!

The Raingutter Regatta ⛵️ is a popular Cub Scout racing event where youth build small boats from kits and race them down water-filled rain gutters. 🐾 Scouts power their boats by blowing on the sails, making it a test of both boat design (speed) and physical technique. It is a competitive, hands-on activity, often likened to a water-based Pinewood Derby, designed for creativity and fun!

🐾🐾 SCOUT US IN! The Kendall Cub Scouts will be there and ready to help beautify the neighborhood! ✨🌏🌍✨

In Cub Scouts, all ranks complete a "Champions for Nature" elective to emphasize habitat studies, recycling, and "leave no trace" principles. We are so excited to partner with the Kendall NY Highway Dept and Kendall Lions Club to emphasize scouting goals and have fun in the process!

The Kendall Highway Department, along with the Kendall Lions Club, will be promoting Earth Day again this year with a TOWN WIDE ROADSIDE CLEAN-UP. The event will take place on Saturday, April 25th. All volunteers are asked to check in at the Highway Department at 9:00am on Crandall Ave. to be assigned a route. The Kendall Lions Club will be cooking hot dogs and they will be ready for eating when your route is done. Completion time is Noon. We look forward to seeing you, and we thank you in advance for helping to beautify Kendall.
