Last night 06/02/26 at approximately 7pm Kenansville Fire was dispatched to 587 East Wards Bridge Rd for a brush fire, upon arrival we found a large block of woods burning that the fire dept could not gain access to. Mutal aid was called in from Sarecta, Oak Wolfe, Warsaw, Pleasant Grove, Beulaville, Duplin County Sheriffs Office and NC Forestry. Mutal aid departments help protect homes and structures on NC 1004 from the fire. Duplin Co Sheriff’s was called for there drone to get an over view to see how far the fire had spread. Kenansville Fire wants to Thank all mutal aid for there help and resources for this fire. NC Forestry estimates that approximately 80 acres were burned. Also there will be smoke still in the area of NC 11-903 approximately 3-4 miles from Kenansville and on NC 1004 (Summerlins Crossroads Road). Please keep this in mind when traveling in that area.

Thanks

Last night (05/17/26) around 9:45pm Kenansville Fire was dispatched to a residential structure Fire on 434 Routledge Road, Kenansville. Also mutal aid from Sarecta, Warsaw and Oak Wolfe was dispatched as well, Upon arrival it was found to be a working fire. The fire had gained access to the roof space, Kenansville immediately pulled lines and made a attack on the fire knocking it down, after a hour or so checking and extinguishing hot spots the fire was declared out. There was some damage to the roof and water damage inside the house. Main thing is everyone made it out OK and there were no injuries reported from fire crews!!! Kenansville would like to Thank our Mutal Aid Depts (Sarecta, Warsaw, and Oak Wolfe for the help and dedication to our community, and helping us quickly get this fire under control!!!!

Over the next few weeks, we will be out cleaning up around and checking all hydrants within our district. This is a vital part of maintaining adequate fire protection and ISO requirements. If you see our members and equipment, please slow down and allow for a safe working area.
