Native American Orthodox Christian Fellowship

Native American Orthodox Christian Fellowship NAOCF was created out of the desire to celebrate the experience of Native Peoples in the Eastern Orthodox Church since the 18th century.

NAOCF was created out of the desire to provide information regarding the experience which the Native Peoples of Alaska have had with the Eastern Orthodox Church since the 18th century. This information may be of interest to fellow Orthodox Christians, other Christians, and perhaps Native Americans of all faiths and tribes. Our intent is to show that the church has received and baptized not just a

few or a score of individuals among the several Alaskan Native Peoples but their entire culture has been blessed as per Christ's commandment in Isaiah 43:5-6:
Fear not, for I am with you; I will bring your seed from the east, and gather you from the west. I will say to the north, Bring them, and to the south, Do not keep them back. Bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth everyone called by my name.

Blessed Olga of Kwethluk pray to God for us.

The late Orthodox missionary and scholar Fr. Michael Oleksa personally knew Olga. Fr. Oleksa played a key role in compiling accounts of holiness essential for her glorification.

O Peter, upon the rock of thy faith hath Christ built His Church, and in the streams of thy blood hath He hallowed our land. In thee thy people hath been sanctified, O Aleut; from the farthest islands of the west hath He raised thee, a light unto all. Glory to Him that hath glorified thee. Glory to Him that worketh healings for all through thee.
