THE PRIMARY MATTERS. And it is next Tuesday, August 18th!

It can be easy to think of the November election as the “big” election... but in Alaska, the Primary Election plays an important role in deciding who will actually appear on that November ballot.

Alaska’s Primary Election is not ranked choice voting. In the primary, you vote for ONE candidate in each race, regardless of party affiliation. The candidates receiving the most votes advance to the General Election.

That means if there is a candidate you want the opportunity to vote for in November, showing up for the Primary Election matters.

The Kenai Chamber of Commerce encourages our community to be informed, learn about the candidates and issues, and most importantly VOTE.

We’ve put together these slides to help make finding the information you need a little easier.

The Kenai Chamber of Commerce is a nonpartisan organization and does not endorse, support or oppose any candidate, campaign or ballot measure. This information is provided as a public service to help voters make informed decisions.

Your vote in November matters. Your vote in August determines who gets there.
